The waiter, Lucas, was warm & funny. Our hot entree, however was cold! The lighting was poor, the light over our table was burned out! Lucas brought us electronic candles, a great help. Would have been romantic, we were however celebrating our granddaughters 18th birthday, not a romantic occasion.

We love everything about Coasterra - the food, the location, and the staff. Our Mother's Day Brunch was a wonderful afternoon of great food, excellent weather and the efforts of our waiter Kyle. He was extremely attentive, thoughtful, and pleasant and made our afternoon a relaxing and most enjoyable experience. We greatly appreciated him and the efforts of the entire staff.

Mother’s Day brunch. Food was cold and sub-par. I have been here before and the menu food is better. We usually go for the ambience and the views but I would avoid a buffet type event in the future

We have dined at Coasterra for brunch several times and was disappointed this time. The culinary options were not at the level we have enjoyed in the past. The prime rib station ran out at 1:30 for 15 min along with the seafood station running out of items. The best thing we had was the chicken tamale sad to say when there is surf and turf and carving stations at a $98 per person brunch. Our server let dishes stack on our table and did not refill water or drinks. Kinda frustrating. However, the free photo op was a plus. We have not heard from the photo guy, but that was a GREAT idea!

Mother's Day Champagne Brunch was the Buffet of all Buffet's. Very nicely laid out, ALL staff members were friendly, accommodating and on point. Hot foods were appropriate temperature as well. Coasterra has been a family favorite. The only negative.....I feel the buffet price was higher than what was realistically appropriate.

Service from the hostess desk was outstanding, absolutely no issues whatsoever or waiting. Wait staff was aware and quickly took out drink orders. Initial drinks were quickly delivered. But water, salsa and subsequent beverages were forgotten for about 30 minutes. We eventually asked the bus staff for water, chips and salsa. When I finally saw our waiter I asked about my draft and he remembered it. He brought it in a few minutes. Things picked up afterwards, but for their prices, everything should be spot on. Don’t ask what type of water I want and promise chips and salsa along with my beer and not bring any of that.

I was initially attracted to the beautiful view the restaurant offers but was not expecting such amazing dishes the tuna tostada is one of the best I’ve ever tried and I was very pleased with the flavor of my margarita comparable to the authentic ones I’ve had in Mexico. Our server was super kind and attentive as well great service

The venue and location is beautiful, but the capacity seems bigger than the staff and kitchen can handle. Service was a little slow despite it not seeming too crowded, and my carne asada seemed like it cooked more under the warming lamps before it came out. Both the food and cocktail menus are creative, and the view can’t be beat.

The restaurant was amazing, great customer service when we got there we didn’t wait that long to be seated. The food was exceptionally good and the drinks were really good. I would definitely recommend coming here.

Always a fantastic place to sit outdoors and contemplate the navy ships, cruise ships and San Diego skyline. 2 at our table enjoyed the fish tacos with what tasted like handmade corn tortillas. The guacamole is outstanding and the portion is generous enough for 4 ,

Great service by our waitress, it was her last day of training and she did great (Think her name was Erin or something like that). My uncle thought the food was gonna be ok at best but he ended up loving it; He had the calamari and rainbow trout while my aunt had the chicken, both great. The view of downtown was exactly as advertised and you can see it from anywhere in the restaurant. They also gave me a free desert and candle and did not sing happy birthday which I appreciate since that is always awkward to me at restaurants.

What a perfect evening. Staff from the moment we walked in until we left, made it an amazing experience. Best server we've had in years. Everyone we interacted with was over the top. Ambiance and setting could not have been better. Cannot recommend this place high enough. Sat outside with a perfect view of the harbor.

Let me first say, we love Coasterra. Have been several times and is a favorite place to take out of town guests…the views, ambiance…and usually food and service top notch. I think our most recent experience was an anomaly…at least hoping it was. The service was amazing slow and not very attentive. Took a very long time for entrees to come to table after ordering (25 min or so). Had to ask someone passing by to clear the finished plates and for dessert menus. I was apologizing to our guests about the experience since we had been raving about it all day and couldn’t wait to take them there! We will go again…because again, really hoping it was just an off night!

Kindness will get you a long way. Everyone working at Coasterra was kind and made my mom feel special for her birthday. The waiter was knowledgeable, and the food was exceptional. Highly recommended.
