Have eaten here many times because we love the food and have always had a good experience. We thought it would be the perfect place to bring our family and celebrate our daughter’s graduation. Unfortunately, our experience was very unpleasant. Food was very good, but we were so offended by our server’s impatient attitude and lack of interest in attending to our table that I highly doubt we will ever return. Perhaps this was due to his guaranteed 20% tip due to our party size. In my opinion, there is absolutely no excuse for not acknowledging our daughter’s graduation, coming to our table about 3 minutes after we ordered appetizers and just standing there with his pad and pencil ready to take our order without saying a word, making us feel rushed, and just overall acting like he had better things to do than serve us. We really can’t justify spending over $500 and being treated like this. It’s unfortunate and we really don’t think he deserved that “guaranteed” 20% tip. Honestly, we are the type of people that are happy to add extra to that tip for great service. We feel badly that our family had to have this experience, especially our daughter on her special day.

The service at City Gate is great. It all starts with great leadership of General Manager, Augustus. Miguel, Scott, Steven and all the waiters and supporting staff focus on ensuring a great experience for customers.

First time dining there, to celebrate our anniversary. Steve provided great service and the food was excellent. Will dine there again.

This is a great restaurant in Naperville outside downtown by 5-10 minutes. Great food, great wine. Manager is excellent as are all the staff. We eat there every time we are in Naperville area.

Our only complaint was the Service. We were seated. A while later given water- sat there. Got our Food. And finally asked twice about a Server so we could order Beverages. Even after that we had to flag someone down. We would have ordered more if it wasn’t so frustrating.

Best Mother's Day food fest we have ever attended around this area and we have been to most of the competing restaurants over the past 30 years. The food offerings were extensive whether it be breakfast, brunch, dinner or a combo and the service was superb! Making our reservations for next year ASAP!

Nice selection of Mothers Day brunch food, including some premium items. Brunches are always a questionable choice for people unwilling to overeat, but it comes with the program. The kitchen or runners had trouble keeping up replenishing popular items. But they got it done. Good service for a busy day.
