    My wife and I came back to South Carolina for our nephew's wedding. Our anniversary was a few days apart so we knew we had to celebrate our anniversary at Chop House 47. The service is superb and David, who was out server, was excellent. My wife, who is a chef instructor, and I found the food to je excellent.

    Chophouse 47 is part of a group of restaurants owned by the same parent as California Dreaming. The restaurant is dark and you have to use your iPhone Light to glance at the menu. The staff seem friendly, but are not very knowledgeable. Our waiter did not know where our steak was from. The food is pricey and delicious, but the value is not there for the cost of the meal. This is my first time at Chophouse 47 and perhaps my last time.

    Our reservation was for 8:00pm. We arrived early at around 7:25pm and were told “we would be seated close to 8:00pm”. At 8:00pm I inquired with the hostess to see how much longer we would have to wait, she stated “we are still seating 7:30pm reservations” (which wasn’t spoken in the nicest tone). My husband and I then went to the bar to sit down and finally at 8:19pm I received a text that our table was ready. Once at the table, my seat that I was going to seat in was wet (you would think after the wait we had that this would have been noticed). Also, my husband had to ask for bread and butter to be brought to the table. I will say that our actual waitress gave great customer service and our food was outstanding (Oyster Rockefeller, Charred Brussels Sprouts, Lamb Chops, Bone-In Ribeye, Loaded Baked Potato). The last thing that could have been avoided was that the young lady who brought out our to-go cheesecake (she wasn’t our actual waitress) initially brought it to the table behind us but luckily they were honest and told her that it wasn’t theirs.

    Had to wait 45 minutes after my reservation and Service was Horrible. Did comp me Appetizers which was nice but my time is more valuable than that. I go here a lot and this experience was very disappointing and might start going back to Halls Chophouse.

    Had a great birthday dinner for my husband at Chophouse 47. All the food was delicious. He had a wedge salad to start, which had the most tasty tomatoes. I had the Caesar salad, which never disappoints. For our mains, he had the 10oz NY strip and I had the salmon. We shared Brussel sprouts and the cheesy mashed potatoes (those were a highlight). For desert we shared the butter cake, which is pure perfection and not to be missed. Overall everything was wonderful, the staff, food, drinks, and ambience. We will definitely be back!
