Food and portions were good. Decor is traditional and cool. Prices were a bit high for what you’re getting, but as expected for the prime location so that was fine. But it’s cramped and noisy. Staff seemed stressed out and not particularly welcoming.

We’ve been at Casa Romero many times over the past 35 years, and it never disappoints. Excellent food, great service. A little loud this last time, but it was Cinco de Mayo so no hard feelings. Thanks!

We had a reservation and we're sat immediately, but they sat us at the very back of the restaurant where it smelled like a bathroom and wasn't pleasant. We asked to move tables and since they were all booked with reservations, they could only offer the bar. It was fine as there was no one there yet and they served full menu at the bar. We got the Smokey Flower cocktail and it was tasty but a little pricey for the amount of ice they put in the drink. And then for food, same thing, pricey for the amount of food but quite tasty. Not sure if they upped prices for Cinco de Mayo but I would probably return again. Also at most Mexican restaurants you typically get chips and salsa for free but it's about $15 here with guacamole included. Our bartender was nice and we had a generally good experience.

Ambience is awesome, and food is delicious. The cocktails were fine but too expensive for what you get (for $20 I’d expect higher quality). They immediately try to sell you $15 chips and guacamole before you see the menu or the price. Service felt rushed, like they wanted us in and out asap. I strongly dislike QR code menus, and when they make you pay the bill with one of those portable electronic card readers while they stand over you and watch.

Second time here-food was great but room was packed on a Saturday night. Wait staff had trouble adjusting but they were very friendly. Think the food is reasonably priced and was excellent! Will come back again.

I’m a first timer at Casa Romero. Attended on a Wed night to celebrate a family birthday. Food and service were fantastic and lived up to its reputation. Drinks were very pricey and restaurant was very loud, but we had a fun experience.

Food was average , noise level was extremely high as we were seated next to the bar , soda machine was broken and kitchen charge was hidden among the food items on the bill instead of on the bottom where you would notice it right away .

Food and service are good. Our main complaint is feeling rushed. We were in an out in an hour. It's great to get your food quickly, but it's so fast that you are done and on your way out the door before you even know it. The reservation confirmation tells you you have 1.5 hours for your reservation, but when the food comes within 5-10 minutes of ordering, it's hard not to feel like you should leave right away.

The food was delicious and authentic. Our server was lovely! We had the chance to sit on the patio for their first day of the season. Everything was wonderful - really cool spot tucked into back bay.

I have LOVED CR for years-maybe as early as 1985. The wait person suggested an entree; I agreed. It was not good. I said so. He responded, "Yeah sometimes there are too many peas and carrots." The drinks were great. No longer serve Mexican coffee. Was told that Mr. Romero liked it and he never stops in now so they took it off the menu. No flan. Friday night, busy of course. OUT of flan by 7:30?? The NOISE LEVEL was unbearable. OUTRAGEOUS. The room was crowded; Friday night I guess. Guac, salsa, chips...great. Good rice and beans. Service? But very busy.

We went out to dinner with vegetarians who ordered vegetarian fajitas. We ordered rice and we’re not told it was made with chicken broth and the vegetarians ate it.

The food and service were both fantastic! We got the chips and guac to start and for entrees the chicken enchiladas / Baja fish tacos. This place has some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Boston. The one thing is it is a bit expensive for the portions. The margaritas are fantastic but $20 is a lot for a drink. I guess it is in Back Bay and will be more expensive given the cost of real estate. Either way still a great place to try!

Great food and sevice. Only wish is that they didn't play the music so loud as the rooms are small.

Excellent service but the music over the speakers was SO LOUD! We could barely carry on a conversation.
