What a great destination for delicious food and exceptional service! Wonderful menu, and the taste and quality of the food did not disappoint. Our server was friendly and efficient, the whole meal was perfect. Definitely recommend and planning to return!!

First time visit to this place. We were not disappointed. The food and drinks were yummy and our server, Marc Anthony, was personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun. We went for a birthday brunch. They actually had a card for me and a free dessert. So that was a fun bonus.

I brought my friend for her birthday, and she completely enjoyed her eggs Benedict and was delighted to take a dessert home with her, compliments of your restaurant. In general, we were very satisfied with everything from the food to the service. And the cost for that kind of meal I thought was, reasonable. I would like to ask you to try and rethink your containers for take home items. Only part of the container was recyclable in the blue bin. The top was not recyclable, that I could tell. I realize it’s difficult to provide a sanitary and reasonable container for take-home items, but whatever you could do to make it more friendly to the environment, I would certainly appreciate. The only other criticism I have, and perhaps that’s due to my age, but it is something I have always noticed in busy restaurants, is the noise level. I found the noise level extremely high yesterday. It was hard to have a conversation with my companion. I think that has something to do with restaurants believe they do successful marketing, but what do I know? I would prefer a quieter environment. Perhaps the next visit I will try and be Seed outdoors. Thank you very much for a good dining experience.

The scallops that were on special were delicious. Can also highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding. The service was excellent as always.

Kale salad always my favorite Was smaller and not as fresh as it normally is. Coconut pie delicious but must have been the last slice . It was beat up looking. Muscles were wonderful

We got the scallop and lobster specials and wow!!! Disappointed we didn’t get Ryan as a server but our server was awesome. Forgot his name. Kyle was so nice and stopped by to ask about our drinks. Awesome night

It was a girls night for my bday and I picked this restaurant on a whim. I am not familiar with this side of town and was worried about the parking prior to arriving. It is near the east side so it is a bit of a drive from any direction. I say that to say that the ride is worth it. There is plenty of parking tucked on the side of the building and the atmosphere is old style and welcoming on the inside. There is also plenty of outside seating. Our waiter, Justin, was nice and knowledgeable on the drinks and food specials. As a table we ordered the Crab cake appetizer (rating-3), mustang chicken (rating-5), wild isle salmon ( rating-3.5), bread pudding (rating 3), and the chocolate cake (5) was a bday gift from the restaurant. Overall the food was delish and had a vast amount of flavor. My only "tiffs" are that my salmon was served cold in the middle (which I am assuming because it is served medium well) and the crab cake lacked flavor. The Rose Manhattan drink that we ordered left a little hair on my chest it was that strong! But it was delicious once it was finally finished and complimented my meal well. The tables total ranged from $30-$60 each depending on what was ordered. I look forward to going back and ordering other menu items to try out.

Heather was our server and was attentive and friendly! We had to wait for one of the members of our party and she was patient and watched for her arrival. Food was delicious. We had the shrimp nachos, two of us had the tenderloin and the third the crab cake. Steaks well cooked and delicious. I had indicated one of us had a birthday and they served us a dessert to share. GREAT atmosphere. We love coming here.

Cappy's is one of my regular "go to" places for business lunches. The food and service are always great. And it is a who's who of locals dining there.

This is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch. Abel is an excellent server and always friendly and kind. The food is well done—consistently! Mimosas are good and there are various flavors to choose from…! I always get the gumbo as it has lots of shrimp, chicken and sausage. Spinach omelette is great, too.

Staff was helpful and good. Very cold climate even wait staff noticed. Food was subpar. Shrimp was soggy, crab cake was mostly breading. Bloody Mary was blah. Mojito was tasty though.

The bourbon cocktails were fabulous. We leisurely ate an appetizer of shrimp and kimchi Brussel sprouts and sipped our cocktails. For our entrees my friends from New Mexico ordered the chef’s special of quail and lamb chops with spring pea risotto. They really enjoyed the dish. I had the Mustang chicken. I love this dish because it’s prepared as a vey thin cutlet with a horseradish and Parmesan cheese crust. We ordered a great bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from Willamet, Oregon. Finally for desert we had the delicious toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. Ryan was our server. He did an outstanding job as our server. He was knowledgeable about the food and wine. He took great pride in working with the Lawton family at Cappy’s. We close the place down visiting with Ryan about the city of San Antonio where he grew up.

Always enjoy Cappy's. Food, service, drinks, desserts are always presented very nicely and always delicious. Servers are well trained, at least the ones we have encountered in our visits there.

Always been good, but many hiccups that day. Food was cold-crab cake tasted frozen, couldn’t get the table we wanted even though it was available, waitress seemed hurried. Not a pleasant experience.

We dined at Cappy’s because it was mentioned on a podcast I listen to. We made reservations through Open Table and was seated within minutes of our arrival. The food was delicious - I had the haddock my husband had the steak which he said was wonderful. However, I also ordered a side of brussels sprouts that were cooked perfectly (crispy) except they forgot to mention on the menu they are drenched in hot sauce (I think - honestly don’t remember seeing that and it’s definitely not on their menu online.)….couldn’t eat many of them because they were so spicy hot. And speaking of brussels sprouts, our server, who would rather have been anywhere besides at work that night, forgot to put them in with our order so I was halfway through my meal before I got them. We all have days when we’re not at our best, so I chose to give our server a lot of grace and I would definitely go back to Cappy’s if I’m ever in the San Antonio area again….but if I had the same server, with the same non caring attitude, he and I would have a conversation about it :)

I can really recommend the paella and also the lamb chops. The service was excellent. For dessert you can’t go wrong with either the chocolate cake or the sticky toffee pudding.

We went for brunch. The food and service were impeccable. And the prices were reasonable and appropriate, given the excellence of the experience. We also noted that, though Cappy’s has been there for decades, the ambiance and decor still have a wonderful contemporary feel. A+

Cappy's in Alamo heights area of San Antonio is a wonderful restaurant and we like to do our special occasion outings there throughout the year. It’s reliably good food and service. Great atmosphere.
