There were 4 adults and 1 child in our group for Saturday brunch. The child ordered pancakes and didn't like them, despite liking the traditional pancake recipe. One of the adults was vegan and despite being promised a made-up dish, the server apparently didn't not know how to make it happen. Another adult had a Caesar Salad with grilled salmon and croutons. The delivery was unique, with a romaine head split top to bottom in half lengthwise with powdered cheese and powdered crouton on top with salmon beside it. Not great. Another adult ordered eggs benedict with bacon, but was given sandwich thin slices of canadian bacon on the side. Another fail. But we had a great table outdoors facing the lake, which is why we came. Have never been overwhelmed with great tasting food.

When we lived in Lake Nona this was our favorite restaurant. Unfortunately a lot of what we loved about Canvas has changed; the queso dip - gone, the ceviche - gone, the oyster crackers - long gone. Worse, the food we tried on the new menu was simply not good. The food tasted as if it had been frozen food that was reheated, not the previously always tasty and interesting dishes we loved from Canvas. The setting on the lake and the restaurant itself are still lovely - but the food quality and menu have deteriorated significantly.

Asiabella Our experience a great one. Made sure our table was always cleared without interrupting our conversations. Made great recommendations and was very efficient. SIT IN THE SUNROOM, what a view!!

First time sitting in the entrance area, it took longer to get table service. The waitress was awesome, just the set up being so far from the restaurant seemed to delay our service. Would not want to sit in that room again.

The new menu for brunch have just a few options and they don’t have a lunch menu as a option. We like the restaurant but the new menu for brunch wasn’t good as the old one.

Menu changed…they need to bring that chef back, food was tasteless I paid so much money for a hospital food…BLUF: I won’t be back to this restaurant, I wasted money there.

We absolutely love canvas, and even though we live in Altamonte Springs, we often meet guests there. One thing we’ve noticed is that the restaurant is very very noisy. That could be something we just have to put up with, but it’s interesting that every guest we’ve met has said the same thing that it’s difficult to talk in the restaurant. While service is normally outstanding our particular server did not wait on us with much frequency. There were huge gaps to get refills or check on us. It felt very much like she may have had too many tables. Management was awesome the way they walked around and helped and got condiments and things like that that our server had not checked with us to bring. Normally, the food is overpriced for the tiny amount of shrimp given, and it tasted like shrimp you could get from a frozen food section of the grocery. Based on how amazing the other food items are, I found the baskets that we got this time to be a little disappointing.

We were long-time residents of Lake Nona until two years ago when jobs took us to the Pacific Northwest. We recently visited Canvas as it was one of our favorite local restaurants when we lived here. Our experience was disappointing to say the least. While menu evolution is expected in restaurants, we were disappointed to find that the menu has changed so drastically that only yucca fries remain from the original. Nothing against yucca fries, but that hardly seems like a unique differentiator on a menu. Our party had chicken parm, rigatoni pasta, signature Mac and cheese and fried cod. Food lacked basic seasoning. Only the fried cod was worth mentioning. Other dishes were bland and unimpressive. Service was so slow we had nearly finished our entrees before wine was presented. Combined with numerous mistakes with our order and extremely warm restaurant temperature this culminated in a sincerely disappointing experience. Waitstaff we’re energetic and apologetic, but they lacked a team approach. It seems as though they are missing key service standards.

Awesome meal here, and Ryan was a fantastic waiter. Prices are reasonable, food was really good. Especially recommend the mussels and the It's Always Sunny in Lake Nona cocktail. One piece of feedback: our table was about 20 feet from the open kitchen, and was a bit too warm for comfort.

Beautiful restaurant! The food and drinks were more expensive than they should have been. The chicken sandwich was dry with thick slices of bread and not much chicken. The service was also slow. We had a gift card which didn’t cover the meal plus the tip, so we gave our card as well. We ended up paying more than we should have. Not the best experience but sitting by the water was nice!

We were a party of 2 with a reservation. A party of 4 arrived after us without a reservation. They were given a nice table inside before us. We were banished to the patio next to a graduation party. The food was mediocre at best. The salmon was floating in the same cheap tomato sauce that is used for the chicken parm. The mac and cheese was watery. The chicken tenders were actually one of the chicken cutlets from the chicken parm, sliced into strips. I have had better food at an interstate truck stop.

Our experience upon arrival of 5 mins early for our 7 pm reservation was horrible. Although we had a reservation they continued to follow the walk in schedule and seated people based on that rather than the reservation. Several people walked in after us and were seated. At 7:20 we had to ask how much longer it would be and only then were we seated??? Like they didn’t know we were waiting. Then as we were being seated we were walked right past an open table overlooking the lake directly. I asked if we could sit there and was told no, that table was already reserved. I reaffirmed that we indeed had a reservation as well and was unaware we could reserve a table and she told me again we could not sit there. It was only after that what appears to be a manager that overheard our conversation that our evening was back on track. We were moved to the requested table and our server was lovely. The food was very good and sunset views lovely! Unfortunately you have to figure out how to get past the several hostess’s apparent favoritism to have this experience. Good luck is all I can say!

We have been here before and always have a great meal, with great service. Always have the yucca fries as an appetizer... and they were wonderful. Order our drinks. They came reasonably quickly, but they were out of the beer my son-in-law ordered. He picked another beer and that took a long time to come out. While we were ordering the waitress told my daughter that they only had "1 more" mushroom pot pie, so she would have to check. She came back and said they were out. Thought it was odd that they were out of a beer and entree at 6pm on a Friday. The food came out and it was excellent. My daughter did notice that the table next to us (that was seated about 30 minutes after us) had a mushroom pot pie. Not sure what happened there... We will return. Hope they have the pot pie for my daughter and grandson to share. One other thing, it would be good if they added more vegetarian options to menu.

APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE!!! The brand new menu has finally arrived. After MANY years of minor tweaks to the menu, management has finally revamped the menu. It is now an "all day menu" which is fine. Very few favorites still remain, but the new dishes are very welcome. I had the new shrimp tacos and they were very delicious, a bit messy, but delicious. My hubby had the penne a la vodka with homemade sausage and he enjoyed his meal as well. We're very glad for the menu change (and the minor decor changes as well), and will once again keep Canvas in our dining rotation. What made the evening so much more special was our server, Sara. SARA YOU ROCK!!!

Hadn’t been here in over a year, but saw they had a new menu. Everything we had was delicious! We each tried a few new cocktails that were awesome and our food was equally amazing. So happy they’ve added new things and we will be back very soon to try more of them.

The hostess SAVVY is ALWAYS pleasant, professional and provided AMAZING customer service! She has truly restored my faith in Customer service. Although Malik wasn’t our server today (he always provided GREAT service) we had Antos and she didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to dine this Friday 5/3 with family and friends! Expecting nothing but the best!

Octopus was awesome, the chicken sandwich was a thumbs down. Zero flavor, less than average for Canvas. We enjoy Canvas, glad we can get octopus again. Wish we’d had 2 orders of the octopus and skipped the medicore chicken sandwich .

did not get greeted until 15 minutes after being sat. The manager did come over and offer the table free appetizers for the wait. Our server ended up being very nice. Food was decent nothing crazy.

Drinks were watered down even though they attempted to remake twice. Food was okay seems like they're still learning how to prepare the new menu. Value for the price is not quite what it used to be.

Not sure what was up but service wasn’t the best. My friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it came out fried. Overall our food and drinks took an exceptionally long time to arrive. Food was great once it arrived.

The menu has shifted again and the mains no longer have sides included, this was not brought to our attention by our server. The portions were large, but the price was high for a 'protein' only dish.

The food was sub par at best. Food and drinks took forever. Our waiter was the only good part about the experience. Which was a bit of a shock, because all of my other experiences at canvas were good. Although the kitchen and bar were extremely behind all night, he kept a great attitude and ultimately salvaged the experience (I believe his name was Brian).

We had a reservation for 12pm for which we arrived 15mins early. The restaurant was not full and there was no one when we checked in.. we were told it would only take a few mins. Noon arrived and people also started to arrived. Small and big parties were told it would be about 20 mins but the hostess started calling everyone but us. I know they didn’t have reservations because we heard the hostess tell everyone what the wait time would be. It appears having a reservation meant nothing. We were sat 30mins later after I requested to know our wait time. Food was average. My husband ordered a spicy mango margarita that was watery and not even spicy. The manager came by our table and we asked her for salt and pepper which was never arrived. The people next to us ordered French toast and they had to request syrup as they received none. Not sure if this is normal but I was very disappointed and do not see myself visiting again or recommending.

The hamburger had no sauce and thankfully so because when she brought it i tasted it before putting on my burger and it was too strong, like pickle juice. It was very loud and crowded too:( The english muffin came with no butter or jam and when we asked she brought out hot pepper jelly, not the greatest for breakfast muffin.

The Nutella donuts were amazing. The rest of our food was mediocre. I had pancakes with a lemon drizzle. The pancakes were good in flavor but very dry. The lemon glaze was yummy but I wish there was more. If there wasn’t lemon glaze, it was just like eating dry pancakes. My friend had the mac n cheese which had a taco seasoning in it, which was not mentioned on the menu. She said it was good but would have gotten it without the seasoning. It look a very long time to get our check and pay but service was otherwise ok. The restaurant is beautiful with a great view, as advertised.
