Food as always was absolutely exceptional and very affordably priced. Wide variety on the menu. Authentic Belgian dishes. Very welcoming atmosphere.

THE FOOD WAS SCRUMPTIOUS AS USUAL THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HONOR OUR 9:30 RESERVATION BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE STILL AT THEIR TABLES AND THERE WERE FOUR PEOPLE STILL WAITING FOR THEIR 9:00 RESERVATION THEY OFFERED TO PUT US AT THE BAR BUT REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO SIT AT THE BAR TRYING TO EAT AND CONVERSE THOUGH I HAVE DONE THAT AT OTHER PLACES WHEN THEY HAD NO TABLES AND WE HAD NO RESERVATION BUT THEN WE WERE OFFERED A TABLE NEXT TO THE DOOR AND THE MAITRE D' WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE SURE WE WERE HAPPY - MY FRIEND WAS READY NEVER TO RETURN BUT ALL IS FORGIVEN SO SHE ENDED UP SAYING HE WAS CHARMING AND VERY HOSPITABLE!

The service was excellent and it’s a warm, friendly venue. The food unfortunately was it nearly as good as it was in the past. I started with a Ceasar salad. It was a large portion, but the dressing was rather bland as opposed to the normal tangy flavor. The croutons were not at all crisp. Next was French onion soup. The broth was delicious. The onions slices were fairly thick and not caramelized at all. I’m not sure that the cheese was Gruyère, as it was fairly bland. The moules marinières seemed to be overcooked. In addition, about ½ of the shells either were empty (there were not nearly a comparable number of mussels floating in the broth) or did not open. Given that mussels cost $4.50/lb I would have hoped they compensated for the small percentage of edible mussels with a larger portion. The broth was plentiful and tasty, though there was no bread to help mop up the last of the broth. The pear cider was fantastic. It was the Ides of March, and perhaps their chef was named Ceasar and had been stabbed to death, leaving them to scramble.
