Véritable tradition à San Diego depuis 1969, le Brigantine Coronado a reçu de nombreuses distinctions au cours de ses plus de 40 ans d'existence, notamment celles des « meilleurs fruits de mer », du « meilleur restaurant de fruits de mer décontracté », de la « meilleure happy hour » et même du « meilleur espadon du monde entier », selon USA Today, pour ne citer que quelques-unes. Réputé pour sa chaudrée de palourdes, son espadon grillé et sa crème brûlée caractéristiques, le restaurant Brigantine fait partie des établissements préférés des habitants de la région pour ses fruits de mer toujours frais, ses succulents steaks et ses grillades. Destination incontournable pour les habitants des environs et les touristes, le Coronado Brigantine est situé au cœur du village, juste à côté de l'historique Hotel Del Coronado. Après avoir subi une rénovation complète en 2005, le « nouveau » Coronado Brigantine présente une élégante adaptation de lui-même. Les ajouts d'une salle à manger privée au cadre intime, d'un bar entouré de sièges et d'une terrasse côté rue ont été reçus avec enthousiasme. Our inside location was an almost private room, which offered a low noise and low walk by traffic at our table. Servers were attentive without being too bothersome. An overall great place to take Mom out for finer dining.

I was surprised that the hostesses were so unfriendly - no smiles, no welcome when I checked in for our reservation. When we were seated outside in full-sun, the manager was very helpful in getting us reseated and navigating the menu changeover as half the table wanted the morning menu and the other wanted the afternoon menu offering.

They were definitely off...and even for Mother's Day, they were at about 60% capacity...so can't imagine the kitchen was overwhelmed. Our service was excellent and an unexpected accommodation was made on our bill by the manager. I've been to several of the Brigantines and this was my first at Coronado. I'm not likely to return. Things that didn't work for us: - outdoors isn't necessarily on a patio and we were put in a sectioned off area of a parking lot. It had umbrellas to break the sun. However, the ambiance is the parking lot and exterior walls of surrounding building...not even a sidewalk view. - hot food was delivered to the table without having first delivered plates to put the food on. So you wait, and the food cools down. - Parmigiano risotto that accompanied my delicious halibut fish had the texture and taste of grits. Aweful! They gave me options for replacement...I chose fires. They too were awwful. What could go wrong with fries you ask? They are flavorless, not even salt...and I'm certain they came to the fryer frozen from a bag. They were delivered with no salt or pepper on the table or ketchup. By the time they arrived, When they were delivered, I'd finished meal meal which I'd only been into a couple bites when I brought the risotto the our serveer's attention. - my dining mate ordered the lobster tacos. He said they were flavorless and he had to ask for hot sauce. His accompanying fries tasted just like mine. Uneventful.

We enjoyed our meals and our server was very attentive to our needs. I believe the manager on duty was who offered to take our photo and she was very nice and attentive to our needs too. We have a great time especially on such a busy day due to being Mother’s Day.

Waiter started off attentive as we were dining on outside patio. Slow to remove dishes before next were delivered. Waited ten minutes after eating for check. Bus staff were congregating and not attentive when only two tables were being served. Overall, good but just remember those outside.

Noise level can be high (Especially if you’re eating outside) due to jets landing at NAS North Island. Remodel on indoors space was gorgeous! Macadamia and coconut crusted shrimp appetizer was outstanding. My wife had macadamia crusted halibut with a delicious cream sauce…my crab stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious. Highly recommend the Brig!!!

Had high expectations for the food given the rave reviews we saw on line. The food was just ok. Had the clam chowder which was just ok, but read that it was a specialty; the crab cake was very good, and the swordfish was too. The fish and chips was just ok and the fries were overcooked and cold.

Most of our entrees were excellent, lobster tacos and mahi sandwich superb. Fish and chips were very dry and taste was off. Definitely will return.

Discovered this place way back when it was new and have been going faithfully and with great results every time I travel to Coronado since. Good food, very social atmosphere and great service. I don’t know what else I can say- that’s all we want, right?

The food was good. Aspects of the service were good, such as all or orders were accurate, even with some special accommodations. But often the service was slow.We were the only party there for early Sunday brunch. While there were several servers, service was quite slow. We were a larger party, so some of that was understandable. But for the most part, there was no reason for it. Worth noting that our party was large enough to result in the automatic addition of 20% gratuity to the check. That sometimes adversely affects level of service. Unfortunate if that were the case, as I typically add more tip when the service is great.

I live in Coronado and eat here time to time, usually at bar for drinks and tacos at happy hour. This time my wife and I had dinner but it was simply unappetizing. Our dishes were sand dabs in a parmesan coat and mahi in a macadamia nut coat. Both were terrible. The sand dabs had a very strong fish smell, not the delicate smell and taste normally associated with the dish. The coating was awful, tasting more of a wet flour than anything else. Barely edible and left half on the plate. The mahi not better, probably because the same cook/chef prepared it as the sand dabs. While the fish itself was fine and properly cooked, the coating once again tasted more like wet flour than anything else. It should be crusty, not wet flour, for both. No, I did not ask for a redo. I resist sending dishes back to a cook who did it wrong the first time and who knows what will come back. We cut our losses and will stick with happy hour in the future which has always been satisfactory. While service was OK, for some reason the waitress who comes to the table and takes the order is not the same as the person who shows up with the plates. Of course, the question is "who ordered the (fill in the blank). Not their fault, mgt. must think it is a good idea. We noticed the same on the other tables.

Our group was promptly seated! Our server was kind & attentive. Excellent Happy Hour selection. However, I do miss the swordfish tacos not being on the Happy Hour menu.

Service was exceptional. Everyone was professional and friendly. Food was delivered timely and was hot. Scallops was not cooked completely and was slightly soft and mushy in the middle. The grits is the best I have ever had.

We visit Brigatine every time we visit Coronado. Love the remodel from the old Brigantine so much more space and ambience no. I would say the food is definitely not as strong as we’ve had in past visits. Miso Salmon was probably the best entree of the evening. Raw oysters, calamari strips, soups and salads, Sand Dabs & even complimentary bread were all sort of forgettable. I would invite management and kitchen staff to sit and sample their dinner menu again. The food just didn’t have the bright polish it once did. But all restaurants have off nights every once in while so I will hope things will be better next time i visit!

Service was good. Ordered the New York strip medium rare but it came out a high medium. The brussel sprouts were amazing, the mud pie was FANTASTIC. Cost is a bit high for the quality of the entrees.

Family Vacation Dinner My table for 6 was not available at 6 PM, my reservation time. The menu is somewhat limited, although the roasted oysters and grilled octopus were delicious. Other meals drew very positive remarks! The wait staff was outstanding: courteous and professional. A good experience overall!

Ended up dining on "the patio" outside. Fortunately is was not a cool evening. Seating was okay, about as would be expected. Ordered the coconut encrusted shrimp (very recommended) and the chicken salad. Beware: some of the salads are a virtual 'meal' in themselves. Waitress was good, but no salt and pepper on the table so I asked for salt but she forgot, so flagged down a mess boy and he got it. Other than that, the only problem (minor) was the table adjacent to mine where the adults established a 'childrens table' for four loud little girls so the adults could talk in peace with their friends. Parental supervision, this isn't "Chucky Cheese" folks!

Had a great time at the Brig Coronado. Place was full but that did not impact the service or quality of food. We sat outside and the experience was just perfect. Our server was friendly and well informed about the menu. Oyesters were fresh, Brig Salad was tasty, and the fish and Chips crispy. I had the lobster Tacos and they were great. Must go place if you are in Coronado
