With one of the most picturesque dining settings in Coronado, the Boathouse is situated on the water, where you can enjoy the romantic views of Glorietta Bay. The iconic cupola-adorned landmark was built in 1887 as a design prototype for the Hotel del Coronado located across the street.

Bluewater Boathouse may be reached by water taxi, the Coronado Bay bridge or via the Silver Strand. The upstairs lounge host Happy Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 3:00pm till 6:00pm and dinner service Friday and Saturday at 4:00pm. Banquet rooms are available for day or evening rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, corporate events and military functions. Surrounded by historical character, stunning views of the Bay and a pristine fresh menu, Bluewater Boathouse is a must see culinary destination.

Delicious dinner. He had clam chowder and blackened halibut with dirty rice and shrimp etouffe. I had salmon with spinach and scalloped potatoes. Both dinners were delicious! Our server was excellent -- personable, knowledgeable and attentive. We had a nice view of the water from our cozy booth. We love Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill.

Service at the bar was great but at the table for dinner the service was lackluster. Our server never checked back with us and we had to get another server to go find her.

Great service to celebrate Mothers day. The restaurant was packed, but service was fast, friendly and attentive. Something to rave about is that they have an extensive Gluten Free menu and a first class protocol

We got our favorite table and had a terrific server, Tyler. My husband had delicious swordfish and I had the tuna poke bowl. The view was terrific as always! A wonderful Mother's Day celebration!

We came for lunch on Mother's Day. It was bustling but not super crowded. We were seated almost right away at a table outside. The food was delicious! We all loved what we ordered. My mom had the Pan Seared Salmon (she opted to get it grilled), her boyfriend had the Fish and Chips, and I had the Seafood Louie Salad. All portions were pretty generous in my opinion. My family and I will definitely be back. My only complaint was that the bathroom wasn't the cleanest. It wasn't horrible but it needed some love and some slight repairs.

We went on Mother's Day with a reservation, which they honored immediately and seated us by the window as requested. We enjoyed 3 types of fish--rockfish, black cod and sand dabs--and everything was cooked to perfection. Our server Marcos was friendly, professional and unobtrusive. Manager came over to ensure all was good--which it was.

Our waiter was great. A memorable Mothers Day. My wife had the clams and Mahi Mahi. My daughters had the crab cakes and the clam chowder. My other daughter and I had the fish and chips…very fresh. Hands down, a great time. This is my 5th time at the restaurant and I’ve yet to be disappointed

I had the sand dabs. The were mushy, watery, and bland. The sauce was good but too little of it 2 in our party had fish and chips. They said is was ok. The oyster Rockefeller was great. The grilled octopus was blah. So overall not a great experience.

Great service but food mediocre. Sourdough bread was to die for! And clam chowder decent. Scallop with polenta entree though very disappointing. As was wedge salad. Goat cheese polenta was short on goat cheese and bland. Bathrooms need a remodel

We had such a nice time here. Wonderful food, people, and service. Jake was one of the best waitpersons we’ve ever had! Thank you Jake, and everyone at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill Coronado. We will be back.

Best seafood restaurant in San Diego. I have been eating at Bluewater Boathouse for years and it never disappoints. You must try the scallops or the butterfish! Do not shy away from the really delicious sourdough bread either. Absolutely the best!

We walked over from the Shores at the del. Quick walk. We requested shaded patio seating and it was wonderful. Service and food were great. Would deliver recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately I'm allergic to gluten so I appreciate when restaurants have either a separate menu or their menus are well marked. Blue Water Grill has a separate gluten free menu. We were there for lunch and it wasn't crowded and it's location is serene and beautiful. My husband had the sourdough bread, clam chowder soup and blackened mahi burger. He enjoyed them all. I had the seared scallops with goat cheese grits. The scallops were cooked perfectly but the grits were just okay. We shared the ahi tuna mediterranean salad and that was very tasty and refreshing.

It was our first time at Bluewater and it was great. Everything from the oyster appetizer to the main course was delicious and the service was excellent. Even the sourdough bread was perfectly warm. The next time we visit Coronado, we will be repeat customers.

The setting is remarkable and evocative. The food is phenomenal. We enjoyed a blackened Pacific halibut which was sublime. If anyone desires an excellent and exceptional west coast seafood experience, look no further.

Our table staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I enjoyed hearing about the history of the building. It was quiet and the view was great. The food and cocktails were exceptional!

Great view. Food was spectacular including the crab cakes, swordfish and the service. Our waitress was superb. Very engaging and knowledgeable. The bartender made a very good “Old Fashioned “. I will be back !

Never again! One of the Worst fine type dining experiences 😔 the waitress was nice but food was awful! We went in to have 1.5 lb crab legs each.. a nice lunch and expensive we knew.. but we were craving good crab legs!! they boiled the crab not steamed them and over boiled it was like rubber! We couldn’t even crack them they were so soft..They also forgot our other dish..-we only got one..but that was ok because it was so bad we saved $.. the appetizer clam chowder came out cold and so thick you could stand your spoon up in it.. if you like that kinda clam chowder it’s all u!! The restaurant was super noisy and that could have been forgiven if the food was good, but it was a waste of 150$ and our Sunday afternoon..so sad 😔

Charming upscale nautical vibe in this historic boathouse restaurant. We took friends to dinner and we all were very pleased with our dinner selections. The food came out hot, presented nicely and was delicious. The only downside was the sourdough was still baking when we got there and they never seemed to catch up. We adore the bread and we were all looking forward to that delicious sourdough, but we waited a bit to get our first order and it was gone after we each got a portion, so we ordered more and it didn’t come until we were almost done with our steamed clam appetizer. We all wanted to soak that delicious bread in the beautiful clam broth. Otherwise, we had a lovely dinner.
