Les clients n'ayant pas fait de réservation sont les bienvenus chez Blue Door Kitchen & Garden, le restaurant du célèbre chef Art Smith. Fidèle à la logique « de la ferme à la table », le restaurant est situé au cœur de la Gold Coast de Chicago, où s'est profondément enraciné le principe selon lequel un chef doit déterminer son menu au gré des saisons. Depuis sa création, la marque Blue Door est devenue synonyme de développement durable et d'approvisionnement responsable. Typically enjoy dining here. Service was below want as been encountered in the pass. Also the patio was extremely hot felt like we were baking and no adjustments or acknowledgments were made if the temperature difference. Will return but hope service was just off for this Sunday Brunch.

Had the pear salad with no onion and there was one piece in it. They said it just got in it somehow. But there definitely had an onion taste in it. Not true!

The exterior of the building was adorable and welcoming! The hostess was not very kind or patient but the rest of our experience was quite enjoyable and had a lovely experience, meal and drinks were fantastic! We appreciated Mac and his recommendations of food and drinks!

One of our favorite lunch spots in the neighborhood! The cornbread is a must to begin, and the hummingbird cake is a must to end. Sitting out in the garden is a beautiful, relaxing experience.

Great food! The tomato soup, bacon mac and cheese, and brussel kale salad were some of our favorite items. It took a little while to get our food but the service was great about checking in with us.

It was a rainy evening and we sat outside in the garden area. The decor was beautiful, it wasn’t too loud outside, and just overall a very pleasant area to dine in. Food and service were excellent too!

Our biscuits/gravy was delicious along with Crab cakes and Pineapple Mimosa, pass on the beignets, super bland and greasy, not at all like New Orleans....Love this place inside and outside, you should go! Quaint, sweet ambience. Four Stars

Mediocre at best. The food was good but nothing better than the 5 other restaurants on the same block. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and overcrowded. They also have zero options if you are sober. I expected more from a Michelin restaurant. I find the farmhouse aesthetic and mason jar glasses tacky and tired, but that is a personal preference.

Blue Door surpassed my expectations. Food was amazing, service (Daisy) did a wonderful job guiding us through the menu. We sat out in their enclosed patio and being in the 40s we were worried we would be cold. But it was very serene and cozy warm. Felt like dining in an elegant greenhouse. We had the fried chicken and rainbow trout and ordered the Mac n cheese. Portions were very large, we couldn’t finish it all. Fried chicken rivals that of The Pink House in Savannah.

The place is really cute inside. The appetizers were okay but our mains were very lack luster. All of them were underseasoned and lacked any substantial flavor. The service was entirely too slow. The server was pleasant but it took her SO LONG to get anything to our table. Two of us sat and waited for our guests who were stuck in traffic and for 20 minutes we sat and waited for her to even ask if we wanted anything to drink. It’s clear she was bartending and serving but the gentleman standing by the pass, whom I’m assuming is the GM, didn’t help her at all. Simple table touches are common practice. The SA left so many dirty dishes in front of us instead of clearing often. The place wasn’t busy so I’m not sure why we got the dull service we did. I don’t believe we’ll be back but I at least hope this information helps the business do better with guests in the future.

We were here for the first time in February and had shrimp and grits and jambalaya. Everything from the food and service was so wonderful that I choose Blue Door Kitchen for my birthday celebration last night. The second visit in March 2024 was a very different experience. We ordered immediately after being seated to find out they were sold out of shrimp and grits and jambalaya. Bummer but we rolled with it and ordered Cobb salad and the fried chicken. The service was incredibly slow and poor attention to detail all evening. It took 25 minutes to get our glasses of wine. Our starter of deviled eggs took 45 minutes to come out. Only one of us had silverware and napkin. We had to flag down two different servers to get another complete set of utensils and napkin. No one checked back if we wanted another glass of wine or water refill after the very long wait and empty glasses. Our entrees finally were dropped off 1 hr 10 min after ordering. I then had to flag down our server that my salad was missing the salad dressing so that was a couple more minutes to get that. Even though the peak of the dinner crowd had long gone home by 9pm, the kitchen was so backed up that I could tell the servers were losing patience and just standing around the kitchen for the next dishes to come out. All that said, the food was delicious and perfectly prepared but the experience ultimately left a sour taste.

This is the kind of place you always hope to find, a charming space where you exhale the moment you walk in the door, that feels as if it could be in the French countryside or just off St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. The staff is friendly (shout out to Eunice) and the food is top-notch, a happy marriage of French and Southern influences. Chef De Juan's biscuits & gravy were, without a doubt, the best version I've ever tasted. The Fried Chicken Benedict was also a hit, as were the salads and hummingbird cake. I look forward to trying the Crab Cakes, Salmon en Croute, Chicken & Waffles and Shrimp & Grits on future visits.

Excellent cocktails & wine and dinner for 3 was fabulous. Had pear salad, butternut squash soup, lamb chops, jambalaya, and salmon. Highly recommended

Very late review but I had a stupendous time at Blue Door! Wish I could remember my server's name but she was excellent and attentive, as were all of the support staff. Stellar food and totally worth the few extra dollars. Coming back next time I'm in town!

All of our meals were plates full of wonderful. Two of us had the lamb chops and they were melt in your mouth delicious. Daughter had the salmon, which she loved. My husband had the fried chicken and it truly was excellent. We shared the sinfully yummy hummingbird cake for dessert. The cocktails were very good also. You know you were satisfied when you can’t wait to go back and you are still talking about it the next day. Big two thumbs up!!

The buttermilk chicken sandwich was exceptionally good. Tender juicy chicken full of flavor. Service was excellent also. Very friendly staff.
