Bix Bistro in Davenport, Iowa specializes in serving modern American cuisine. The restaurant features casual dining with a stylish, contemporary décor and a cocktail lounge.

Bix Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Breakfast at the restaurant features such fare as Omelets, steak and Eggs, Eggs Benedict, buttermilk Pancakes, and French toast. Lunch and dinner fare at Bix Bistro features appetizers, salads and main courses. Menu selections include Scallops, Steak Crostinis, Bruschetta, Blackhawk Salad, Presidential Pork Chop, New York Strip, Forest Mushroom Filet, Black Tie Bourbon Salmon, Herb Roasted Chicken and a Vegetarian Pasta Dish. We have a great dessert selection that includes a few house-made desserts that are prepared at our sister hotel The Current Iowa by Chef Andrea. Our cocktail menu is hand crafted by trained mixologists and updated seasonally, offered along side an extensive wine menu both by the glass and bottle.

I've dined here several times in the past. The food was okay, with the desserts being exceptional. However, the service leaves a bit to be desired. It seems our server wasn't able to refill the water within a reasonable time nor was he able to bring an extra plate and some silverware when asked more than one time.

Went for brunch on Sunday. The freshly made omelette was great. The carved prime rib was tough, lacked flavor, seemed old. I only had the breakfast potatoes as a side and did not care for them. I tried the cheesecake and was underwhelmed. The endless mimosas are 98% orange juice. With that being said, our service was excellent & the atmosphere is very nice.

Bix Bistro has excellent food, service and atmosphere. Everything was well kept and we throughly enjoyed our dinner and server.

The presidential pork chop changed, no longer the same. Now you get two dry chops. Only one dinner gf choice, no starters or appetizers are gf. Not the same place we loved at all, extremely disappointed. Won’t be back!

Our waiter, Zach, was attentive and friendly. The food and location downtown was great. We will definitely go back.

Visited on a quiet night. Slow service. Appetizers came out at the same time as entrees. Entrees were cold. Glass was sitting empty for at least 15 minutes. Mojito had a single mint leaf, used as garnish.

Pricing is pretty comparative to other upscale sit down restaurant. My brunch with bottomless drinks was under $50 which included a 20% tip. They do have live music with Sunday brunch so it was a little on the louder side but you could still have a conversation. The food was pretty good, some dishes lacked seasoning but for the most part it was an enjoyable experience!

Food was good. Service was only okay, she was not polished at all! Given the prices, we expected a higher level of food quality, better service and better atmosphere. The setting was nice, but could have been more intimate if the lights had been turned down and jazz music was playing in the background. Friends who were with us had never been there before and they came away feeling it was just okay!

The setting is lovely at the historic Blackhawk Hotel. The food was fine, not great. I had higher expectations given the price and reputation. The electronic menus leave a lot to be desired. They aren’t clearly marked lunch, dinner, etc as you flip pages. My son wanted a burger but was not an option due to being the lunch menu. No problem except the whole menu is simply a bad user experience. The wrong pictures showed for some of the “V” icons, or they were just wrapped to look associated with the wrong item. I get fine dining places like to have a more limited menu - just dont hand me all your menus and expect me to sort through it. Service was okay, but a bit slow. They were NOT at all busy. We waited a bit to be greeted. Another couple arrived while we dined, waited for quite a while and then seated themselves. Again, not busy at all. The waitstaff seemed to be at the bar area most of the time. Perhaps they have a lot of take out or room service orders they manage. Not on my list to return any time soon.
