Happy Mother's Day! In celebration of Spring and Mother's Day, Bistro du Midi will be offering a three-course prix fixe brunch menu at $80 per person. Additional raw bar & beverage features will also be available. Reservations will be accommodated in both our downstairs Bistro and our upstairs main dining room. Our two bars will be available on a walk-in basis offering a special a la carte brunch menu. Please note that our regular brunch menu will not be available. Dinner service will remain our regular menu offerings. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Have enjoyed this restaurant numerous times over the years. This time dinner was cold and tasteless. Salads seemed old and soggy. Fries were substandard. Service was poor. We had to ask several times for waitstaff to follow through on a small request given at the time that we ordered- and it was finally given after request made to other waiter 20 minutes into meal- with apologies. Not the restaurant that we greatly enjoyed just 6 weeks ago.

We were grossly overcharged. When we received our bill and put the credit cards out for payment, the receipts we had to signed were returned to us with a totally different amount overcharging us for over $300 and the original receipt for our dinner missing. The manager, by some reason, refused to produce the original receipt and it took us some time to clear the situation out. Needless to say we didn’t receive any apologies. It was clear, that that wasn’t a computer mistake. Be aware! Check what bill you sign!

Another perfect meal at Bistro du Midi. My friends all had duck confit with a waffle. Every last bite was loved. My chopped salad with salmon was absolutely perfect down to the last bite. A happy, memorable meal looking out over the Boston Public Garden. Thank you!

The food simply wasn’t special. The service and wine were very good. Also, I don’t normally complain about serving sizes but they were just too small. I left hungry and I’m not overweight at all.

Food is excellent. The noise level is really unpleasant. We ate upstairs this time to try for a better experience but it was still uncomfortably noisy.

I really wanted to love this place (I even brought a guest from out of town) but the bread was hard and room temp, the desserts were underwhelming, we had the seafood bouillabaisse and tasting duck which was for a signature dish just ok. The service was fine and drinks were ok. We had two cocktails, two main course dishes, and two desserts and spent about $200. I definitely don’t feel like it was worth the money.

My favorite neighborhood restaurant! Not only do I bring every out of town visitor here for a lovely, memorable, delicious meal, it’s my go to spot for meals with friends. The most charming ambience, a tasty variety of menu options, and the chef kindly accommodates my dietary restrictions. Bistro du Midi is always a 5 star experience for me!

Food was late. Food was brought to us from another order (another table) then our food finally arrived. Ginger ale was dead. Took a total of 45 minutes to receive two separate bourbon drinks. The bartender had zero sense of urgency and the server had zero interest in correcting her.

The food was very good as I remember from our last visit. The service left a bit to be desired. Specifically we had booked it to celebrate my fathers 75th birthday. When I checked us in, the host seemed to have this recorded but the waitress never mentioned it, wished my dad a happy birthday, or offered any celebratory element (like a dessert). For nearly $400 dinner for 3, I would have expected a better level of hospitality.

Outstanding food and service. A little mixup with our table was immediately, and kindly taken care of. The location offers a great view of the park and adds to the ambiance. Highly recommend

The hostess was accommodating, the waiter could not have been more attentive and helpful with menu choices, and the ambiance was comfortable. The food was excellent - everyone was thrilled with their meal. I look forward to returning!

Beautiful spot overlooking the park with excellent service. Brunch was delicious and great menu choices for all. Special gluten-free and low sodium dietary restrictions were accommodated. All 5 of us raved about the food. Would definitely go back again.

Our waiter Jaun accommodated our food request. He shared the flexibility of some items in the menu as well. The sommelier was knowledgeable of the wine selections. We were able to sit upstairs in the back so the noise level was lower.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Standouts were the octopus, Wagyu beef, beet gnocchi and chocolate soufflé. Even when the restaurant is full, we could hear each other talk, which is often an issue at restaurants. Such a beautiful setting. Our only criticism would be our meal was a bit rushed, with barely being done with one course and the next one was there. This was our fifth time dining here and we will be back again.

Great service. Server listened to us carefully and was able to give us exactly what we needed without us having to explicitly ask for these things. Food was very good only challenge was that the peas and fava beans dish was way too spicy.

The food is excellent. Overall, the experience is what fine dining should be. We were there during The Boston Marathon weekend, so the room was packed and rather loud. With white tablecloths and soft furnishings, our friends said that usually it is a quiet atmosphere.

If you want a place that skimps on portions and you leave hungry this is it. The food was delicious. The service prompt, professional and courteous. But the portions were tiny. I know French portions are smaller than American portions but these were tiny even compared to French standards. I’ve eaten here before and it was fine, even after COVID. But portions this time were tiny. So tiny we had to order croissants because of course they didn’t even attempt to fill us with bread. And the croissants were about 1/3 the size of a normal croissant. For $6 per croissant we should have gotten a full size croissant. There are plenty of other French restaurants in Boston where you can have delicious food served by outstanding waiters in a place with great ambiance. And those are the places I’ll be going to from now on. TBH I would have rated this restaurant 2/5 but because of the service I bumped it up a notch.

Everything was very nice except for the crème brûlée which was probably the worst I’ve had in my entire life. The custard itself was beyond bad-on all points, taste, texture and amount of vanilla bean (barely noticeable) and to make it worse they added a touch of salt that the caramel crust, the regular poorly directed obsession of doing salted caramel which especially in this case is a hard NO, and to continue making it even worse they added a poached pear on top. It was a total disaster. They took an epic dessert that is perfection and completely ruined it in an attempt to make it different. But the onion soup was good, although not amazing, I think it missed some Gruyere cheese, and the lobster ravioli with shrimp and roasted tomatoes was a good dish. The atmosphere is really nice and in general it’s a very nice lunch spot so I would go there again, this is my second time.

Thank you for the feedback. I am very sorry to hear that the creme brulee was such a disappointment. I am curious about what may have happened with there being a flavor of salt, as the dish is finished by caramelizing demerara sugar (only). I will send you a private message as well.

We went there for lunch on a Thursday. We sat upstairs and had a table with a view of the Boston Common. I had the mussels and my husband had the burger. Both were delicious and very filling. We wanted to order the chocolate souffle but you can only order them after 5:00pm. Instead we opted for the creme brulee which was SO good.

Octopus is heavily charred and very tough. I would not recommend this dish. Soufflé is very good, however.

Were were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We are big fans of this restaurant group and decided to try their take on French food. It was lovely BUT very loud for such a nice restaurant. Also, they sat us next to a loud private party and I was tucked into a corner while people constantly shuffling in and out. Extremely disappointing considering we spent over $300!

We were a very large party. Had a semi private room. Beautiful view of Public Garden. Service was excellent. Food portions were small given the $80 price fix. Quality was fine. Had the eggs benedict with salmon on top. Small portion of salmon on each. Tuna tartare appetizer was sized fine. Pistachio dessert was small. Still enjoy the restaurant and will return.

My family dined at Bistro du Midi for Easter Brunch. We chose this restaurant for its proximity to our hotel and its great reviews. We were not disappointed. For an $80 prix fixe menu, I dined on an endive and radicchio salad, croque monsieur and a pistachio tart. It was all excellent! The servers were attentive and the maitre d checked in at every table. I could not have asked for a better way to spend my Easter morning.

Excellent restaurant. Would gladly be back. Their bouillabaisse is like nothing you have ordered before - it is spectacular!!! Flawless service and nice ambiance. Congrats!

Service was very friendly. Had the oysters and Octopus appetizer. The charred Octopus was superb! Martini’s were so so. Seemed watered down and didn’t fill the glass. The second one was not what we ordered (no vermouth please). Overall it was fine. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Another wonderful experience. My wife were attending a show “Message in a Bottle” and had a lovely intimate dinner with an early table booking overlooking the Boston Garden. The food was to die for - again. Wine list is superb. Halibut was amazing. Desert, split penut chocolate delight. A wonderful way to begin a memorable evening- we ll be back many times. Highly recommend.
