In every city, there is a natural gathering spot for city folk and neighborhood people in the know. This place in Saint Paul is know as Bennett's Chop & Railhouse. Located on West Seventh & Victoria, it is the perfect meeting place of uptown and downtown, of quiet neighborhood and big city lights.

It's called a chophouse because it specializes in a casual steakhouse atmosphere with top-of-the-line cuts of the finest meats. It is a Rail-house because it is on the old railroad line serving the city and rail drinks (as well as top brands) are served in the convivial atmosphere of the horseshoe bar.

And of course Bennett's is Bennett's because owners Joe and Meghan Bennett ensure that welcoming hospitality is always served. They have taken their decades of experiences with leading hospitality brands and translated it into an intimate venue where you're not only a customer, but more importantly, a welcome guest.

One of us had the filet, the other lobster, for the price the lobster was very good as well as filet. Great service too.

Bennett’s never disappoints for great food and service. The house salad is very good. We love their dressing. And the carrot cake is delicious. It can get pretty noisy but it’s just part of the experience. Anna was an attentive server and deserves every tip she earns!

Great place to eat! Good range of creative options on the monu from steaks to burgers, chicken pot pie looked delicious. The steaks come with sides and won’t set you back too much on price compared to fancier steakhouses. Service is good but they don’t rush you through dinner, serve apps, salads, entrees separately and they give you time in between but not too long. Great bar (always love a circle bar) with plenty of TVs and delicious martini menu. We had a red velvet cake martini and it was a dessert in itself, so good!

Some of the worst service I’ve had in awhile. Waited to be sat for longer than expected, especially since we had a reservation and there were plenty of open tables and 4 servers walking around. They said the reservation was only for two people, when clearly the app showed 4 people. That caused some anger among the staff. We were seated and no one waited on us. Servers would walk by, but never acknowledged us. After 25min we got up and sat at the bar. Service was a little better, but the ac was on and was blasting cold air even though it was cold outside. It took us over 45min to get our food after ordering. We all felt like we were being punked! Won’t be coming back.

Food was exceptional as usual. Our waiter was outstanding. Very cordial and attentive without hovering over us. One of the finest servers we've had in some time!

The chopped salad is wonderful, either as a side to a meal or as a main course. Martinis are great.

Food was excellent, service was excellent., they didn’t rush you through your dinner like a lot of restaurants . I will definitely be back along with family and friends. Really outstanding.
