Bienvenue sur Benihana : une expérience culinaire pas comme les autres! Nos hôtes sont assis en groupes à des tables communes, où votre chef personnel effectuera l'art ancien du Teppanyaki. Admirez-le trancher, couper en dés et préparer un repas qui éblouira vos yeux et vos papilles, que vous choisissiez le steak-qui-met-l'eau-à-la-bouche, le tendre poulet ou les succulents fruits de mer. Vous pouvez également déguster des sushis préparés par un chef talentueux et vous faire plaisir avec un cocktail de spécialité. Benihana Torrance est une icône dans la South Bay. Il a ouvert ses portes en 1981 et continue depuis à offrir à la communauté une excellente nourriture, des boissons et des spectacles. Le restaurant est niché sur la Plaza Del Amo, au carrefour des boulevards Torrance et Hawthorne. The service was fast appetizers and drinks were ordered and served within minutes. Menu selections for the table were made fast as everyone knew exactly what they wanted to order. The cook was out and ready to start cooking within 15 minutes. Read everyone’s selections and started cooking while we finished our meal appetizers, soup and salad. He prepared our meals and told jokes as he went along. The ambiance was great and we laughed as each course was prepared. It was great!!

Food is amazing. The only issue is the service. Our reservation was at 9 pm and the cook didn’t come to our table until 1030.

Overall my experience was great, being my first time at Benihana. Our chef David & our server Gabrielle were amazing and it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely come back.

Customers with no dress code made it look like a Dennys. This restaurant used to be a little more classy.

Host was rude. She shouldn’t be working at the front, she’s not a people person. Food was good! Overly salted and it was difficult to eat.

We booked here and received excellent service. Although they were running behind in seating guests, Alejandro, our personal chef, provided us with the best experience! The food delivery was great and he made sure our whole table was satisfied.

Didn’t really think that the value of the meal was worth the money. Bathrooms were so bad that after I got home I had to clean the shoes that stuck to the floor. Couldn’t even wash my hands because one of the toilets had overflowed in front of the sinks and they had just put towels down that were very wet. Not going back.

Bar area was speedy and helpful - clean too. Bathrooms were in horrible condition with no service to 2 out of 3 available. Dirty, smelly and not kept at all in fact the worst I’ve seen them. Our server Chef was Erick he was always working hard to make sure our order was correct and tasting good.

Our seating smelled like feet when we first sat down. Then one of the customers made a scene and left, ruining my dinner honestly. Was disappointed leaving.

Food was excellent, the chef was very entertaining and did a wonderful presentation. Beyond that the service was terribly slow, had a 7pm appointment and we arrived a few minutes early, it took a long time to be seated and drink orders were not taken until 7:45. Then another 20 minutes before the drinks arrived and the food order was taken. The restaurant is due for a refresher, the space is tight and the chef kept having to move to the side to allow room for the other chef and server to help the table next to us.

I’ve been going to Benihana‘s for many many years. The experience has really gone down. Nowadays, the food is OK It’s Not the same though That’s the only reason why I still go. This service is horrible specially at the one in Torrance and they need to stop sitting people together who have allergies and are vegetarians With people that eat meat ….I’m not knocking nobody’s food choice or blaming them because they have allergies, but my thing is if they would ask this information upfront when they make the reservations and at the front desk when you check in … so you wouldn’t sit them at a table with people who eat meat

Everything was good. We waited about a few minutes. Both of our waiters were great. Fast service and prepared our food as we asked. My husband is very picky, so that was a plus. The restaurant was clean. Overall, it was a great experience. We are definitely coming back. Thank you 😊

Alex is amazing just an amazing chef and has a wonderful personality and Degas was extremely pleasant and thorough. I visit Benihana at least three times a month and yesterday was just one of the most amazing times that I’ve had.

The restaurant was dirty the bathroom was filthy The people who greeted you didn’t know how to handle individuals We went there for a Birthday party for wife We made a reservation and when greeted they said they didn’t have it and there was nothing available for 2 hours We walked outside and made a reservation with Open table in 15 minutes Real problem Lastly at the end of the meal the waiter asked if we wanted ice cream I asked is that part of the meal he responded yes After further questioning I asked do you charge for it He answered Yes Obviously in his world everything is part of the meal Not differentiating what was and wasn’t included in meal I think Benihana needs a total overhaul

The only reason this review does not have one star is because of the hosts, bartender, and cook who made the experience pleasant, whereas my party's server, TIMOTHY, is who soured what was supposed to be a pleasant celebration. I understand when someone doesn't tend to my party because there is a shortage, the venue is swamped, or they are visibly hustling about...none of these were true. In fact, this was true of everyone else working the restaurant except for Timothy who was negligent, forgetful, and only appeared once I said something to a supervisor. And mind you, I didn't even request a manager, but rather they came because they could see how distraught this party was for the lack of service. The worse part was that no one attempted to "make it right" and seeing Timothy out for yet another outside smoke break event after he was supposedly called out did not help the optics, and optics are reality. The cook salvaged an otherwise atrocious experience.

We had a great time. I really appreciate the manager working with us on our revelation as we were a couple of minutes late. The chef was great as usual. If I could pass along anything it would be to make sure that you have all of the ingredients to make the cocktails on promotion.

We were seated at around 8:40pm and our chef did not show up until around 9:55pm.

Our reservations were at 8pm. We were not seated until 9:30 and the chef didn’t arrive at our table until 9:45 pm. Why accept reservations if you don’t honor it? We weren’t finished until 11 pm and my daughter had to go to school the next day. Food was delicious, and servers were awesome; my complaint is with the time and scheduling. Please do better Torrance. Not sure if I’ll be returning to this location because this happened in the past also.

We were seated more than 30 minutes after our reservation. We had requested a non-aisle end in our written reservation and the host allowed someone else to sit there, so we had to ask to dislodge her because my friend is hard of hearing and the aisles are just too noisy. Bert was out chef and he was the highlight of our experience! He told us many historical facts about Benihana’s and used to work in the Marina location at the same time I lived in MDR. I’m sure he cooked for us because I could walk there from my townhouse. In addition to the interesting lore, he was a great chef!!!! He definitely made our day!

We were seated and waited over an hour before our server came to us. Once she came to our table she said she forgot about us but then changed it to no one told her it was her table. She wasn't coming to our table to see if we needed anything else either. We had requested some chili paste/oil and it never arrived. The chef and food were great though.
