Bienvenue sur Benihana : une expérience culinaire pas comme les autres! Nos hôtes sont assis en groupes à des tables communes, où votre chef personnel effectuera l'art ancien du Teppanyaki. Admirez-le trancher, couper en dés et préparer un repas qui éblouira vos yeux et vos papilles, que vous choisissiez le steak-qui-met-l'eau-à-la-bouche, le tendre poulet ou les succulents fruits de mer. Vous pouvez également déguster des sushis préparés par un chef talentueux et vous faire plaisir avec un cocktail de spécialité. Benihana Torrance est une icône dans la South Bay. Il a ouvert ses portes en 1981 et continue depuis à offrir à la communauté une excellente nourriture, des boissons et des spectacles. Le restaurant est niché sur la Plaza Del Amo, au carrefour des boulevards Torrance et Hawthorne. Benihana never fails to satisfy us. We love the food, ambiance, great chef, professional staff. The Torrance Benihana is our favorite to go to for special occasions, dinner with family and friends. Awesome and amazing experience each time we go. Thanks!

The only reason this review does not have one star is because of the hosts, bartender, and cook who made the experience pleasant, whereas my party's server, TIMOTHY, is who soured what was supposed to be a pleasant celebration. I understand when someone doesn't tend to my party because there is a shortage, the venue is swamped, or they are visibly hustling about...none of these were true. In fact, this was true of everyone else working the restaurant except for Timothy who was negligent, forgetful, and only appeared once I said something to a supervisor. And mind you, I didn't even request a manager, but rather they came because they could see how distraught this party was for the lack of service. The worse part was that no one attempted to "make it right" and seeing Timothy out for yet another outside smoke break event after he was supposedly called out did not help the optics, and optics are reality. The cook salvaged an otherwise atrocious experience.

We had a great time. I really appreciate the manager working with us on our revelation as we were a couple of minutes late. The chef was great as usual. If I could pass along anything it would be to make sure that you have all of the ingredients to make the cocktails on promotion.

Our reservations were at 8pm. We were not seated until 9:30 and the chef didn’t arrive at our table until 9:45 pm. Why accept reservations if you don’t honor it? We weren’t finished until 11 pm and my daughter had to go to school the next day. Food was delicious, and servers were awesome; my complaint is with the time and scheduling. Please do better Torrance. Not sure if I’ll be returning to this location because this happened in the past also.

We were seated more than 30 minutes after our reservation. We had requested a non-aisle end in our written reservation and the host allowed someone else to sit there, so we had to ask to dislodge her because my friend is hard of hearing and the aisles are just too noisy. Bert was out chef and he was the highlight of our experience! He told us many historical facts about Benihana’s and used to work in the Marina location at the same time I lived in MDR. I’m sure he cooked for us because I could walk there from my townhouse. In addition to the interesting lore, he was a great chef!!!! He definitely made our day!

We were seated and waited over an hour before our server came to us. Once she came to our table she said she forgot about us but then changed it to no one told her it was her table. She wasn't coming to our table to see if we needed anything else either. We had requested some chili paste/oil and it never arrived. The chef and food were great though.

Our dinner reservation was @6pm. We got seated at 6:20 and our salad and soup came 30 minutes later. Then we waited an HOUR before they got a chef to prepare our meal. It became a joke at our table because the wait was so long. Eric was a good chef unlike the one I watched at the next grill over during the hour wait. Seriously poor management is going to be the demise of this restaurant.

took our waiter & cook 30 minutes to greet us & another 30 before he started cooking about another 30 just to get the food in total i spent almost 3 hours + there which is wild to me i really want to put 1 star but the cook was amazing

Although w head a reservation we still had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. Understandable, they were very busy. Food was good, our chef was funny. Overall it was a great experience.

Our reservations was for 315. We did not get seated to about 330 once we were seated. We were left there for 45 minutes. I had to request a manager after speaking to a manager. We had to wait 20 more minutes once the cook started at our table. I received the wrong steak. Ordered a cocktail at the beginning of service did not receive it at all. I had to go to the bar to place my drink order.

They charged a service charge and didn’t tell anyone so everyone left a tip on top of the service charge for three people. My bill was $210 they had a $25 service charge on there and I left a $30 tip. They need to tell you that they do that.

I told our waiter I have a shellfish allergy. He did not let the chef know?! So the chef had to re order everything out again which took long. For the whole table.

The chef and the waiter were very friendly and accommodating. This was my first experience and I’m glad that I finally went. I really loved that the staff were attentive to my daughter allergy requests. I will definitely recommend this place.

Theo the chef needs more training. He chopped my steak up so small like I was a child. I am over the show. I disengage from the show. Not interested. Just cook the food. He tends to overcook seafood. I asked for my steak to be medium not medium well. Once you get cooking down, then you can entertain.

Hubby and I had a great time. We went there for my birthday. There was a lot of birthdays celebrations that evening so the noise level was a bit high but fun. The staff was great. Our chef was Juan. We had a great time with him. He was very entertaining.

The restaurant is not very clean. The counters in the bar area were sticky and not wiped clean. There was food and debris all over the floor, the chef’s aprons were very stained and and didn’t appear clean. The food carts are situated so close to guests that they could be touched or contaminated. There was hair on one of the dinner plates. I did not enjoy my meal at all and will not be visiting Benihana Torrance again.

Great dining experience. Hopefully the management will focus on the bathrooms a little more (soap not working, dirty, needs deep cleaning etc)

Food flavor has gone down since the last time we were here. Not enough seasoning. Quantity has also gone down.

Not the best experience. The table chef was messy and the taste of the fools was very bland and some shrimp was not fully cooked. Along with multiple young children screaming and/or crying throughout the night.
