    The wait time between the arrival time and actually eating was almost 2 hours with reservation.

    Our cook Christopher was amazing, the ambiance was loud with a lot of kids running around which didn’t make it enjoyable as much. The food was amazing as always!!!

    The service was really slow. Reservation at 4pm. Didn’t get helped with food until 4:45pm

    Great experience except too much noise and could not talk and listen. I was expecting to see Japanese chefs but it’s okay. I can understand the labor market.

    I had a reservation at 6:15 pm at the San Diego Benihana - Mission Valley. I was not seated until 7:15. I had to wait an hour after my reservation time to be seated and we had plans afterwards that we missed. It was also my annual birthday dinner that we usually have our tradition at Benihana for the past 6 years. However, after this experience I don’t think we will come back. I understood that they were running behind schedule and slammed but everybody was so rude and I didnt feel like they understood our side as well of expecting to be seated at least within 15 min of our reservation time. They did nothing to make up for it or even offer us anything while we waited a whole hour. Finally we got seated at 7:15. There was no salad or soup or anything until 7:40. And the salad even came after the chef arrived.

    Sergio is a great chef. Our waiter was very attentive- getting refills before we even had to ask. Very friendly staff. My husband and I travel over an hour just to go to this particular Benihana. We always have a great experience!

    Was a first timer at Benihana decided to celebrate my birthday there since I heard so many good things about this restaurant. I ordered sushi as an appetizer which never came out so when I asked the server he stated “I’m going to be honest, I did forget to place the order but I did it like 4 minutes ago so it should be out soon “ Sushi ended up coming out right before our dessert. Also, I was excited when a host came to our table asking if we would like our picture taken as a keep sake . At the end of our meal I asked the same server if we can have our picture printed and he stated “the printer was actually broken.” Not the best experience :(

    Overpriced for what it is. They now charge for chili paste when you ask for hot sauce. Chef was alright, he could have put more effort in his show. Waiter didn’t care, never came and asked if we needed anything else. Never refilled our water and we did get drinks too. We asked for our green tea and ice cream that was included with our meal and he seemed bothered we asked for it. Oh and he made sure to tell us to tip at least 18% because he has to split his tips with the Chef. I knew what to expect, been there before and everything has changed after Covid but please give good customer service if your asking for a good tip.
