The food and service was exceptional at Benihana Plano. What was disappointing about the overall experience was the central air conditioning was out. It was 90+ degrees and they had portable AC throughout the restaurant. Sitting in front of a hibachi grill already brings the heat and for the price of the food, customers should be made aware that the AC is not working and given the option when making reservations for dinner at this establishment. This was not the fault of the employees that were serving our table, the service was exceptional. I can not recommend this location until the AC is back in service.

It’s not often I write reviews but the experience last night was not good. The restaurant appeared very ran down. None of the vents over the hibachi grills were working so the restaurant was very smokey and smelled. I asked a server about turning ours on and the server said none of them had worked for a while. In addition, the restaurant was very warm inside. It appeared that the central A/C was down and the restaurant was using portable A/C units spread throughout the restaurant with white ducting to the ceilings. These units were loud, not very cool and did not help the ambiance. The STK restaurant chain has purchased this restaurant and it does not feel like the Benihana of old.

The only bad thing was that they did not serve Diet Dr. Pepper and instead served Diet Pepsi.

I have never been to an hibachi place where the fried rice is $6 extra, on top of the menu price. Only white rice comes with the meal??? Our food was very bland , no flavor, and over cooked, chicken and steak were very dry and hard… will definitely will not be back. We paid over $200 for a below average meal.

Went on a Monday not to busy. Seated quickly. Attentive waitress. Entertaining cook and food tasted great. One of my fav spots.

Not only was it super fun and the service was amazing, the food was also really good. I would definitely go there again!!!

I don't know if the air wasn't working because they had portable ACs everywhere but it was SO HOT I couldn't enjoy my food. Everybody at my table was complaining. You better fix it because I won't be back until it's fixed. Miserable. Food was good and our waiter was good at the hibachi.

Service was good, but perfunctory; not the level of entertainment that we've experienced in the past--almost as though our chef was bored with the job and merely going through the motions. Very expensive too. Food was delicious and well-prepared, but in the past I've had dinners in this type of restaurant that were more entertaining and fun.
