Venez prendre une pause lors de votre virée de magasinage au Mall of America et venez voir ce qui fait que Benihana est un incontournable du centre commercial.     Value for your money is very lacking! They charge an automatic 20% service fee along with prices rising over 25% in the last year … it cost us $100 a person ordering the same things i use to get for $60 … I love yum yum sauce but not at these prices!!!!

    Reservations at 645pm… still not done at 900pm. Realize it was busy, but felt very understaffed. Also, weren’t super conscious of shellfish allergy with shrimp.

    Food was great but the wait time to be seated was long despite having a reservation and wait time until a chef came to our table to cook the food was so long we were offered free apps to compensate. That is a nice touch, thanks for recognizing the length of wait. Would come back despite wait times.

    Wait staff was too busy. Missed drinks and first course dishes not cleared until almost the end if the meal. Dinners did there best to move them out if the way.

    Staff member did not inform us that sushi bar had closed at the time of taking the order. Towards the end of the meal when we inquired about our Sushi, they let us know that the manager was going to let us know. The manager was unapologetic about the situation and said they could not help it anymore.

    Food was OK, out of last 5 visits it's definitely gone downhill. The worst part is the 20% automatic service fee. I'm fine with a 20% automatic tip. But the service fee is described as not being a tip. On top of that the servers try to guilt trip you into giving even more money as a cash tip. The service was subpar, as I'm assuming they don't care anymore, due to the automatic service charge. Will not be back, too many better options at the Mall.

    A tremendous experiential dining option. My grandkids were utterly entranced!!! Great food...great fun.

    You should know that this location does not allow for reservations outside of the Teppanyaki experience. I wanted to avoid that, as I've experienced it at least 20 times, so made a reservation at the bar. I received a call 15 minutes before my reservation, and while driving from the staff who wanted to inform me that if I wanted to sit in the bar, it would be a 30-minute wait because they didn't allow reservations in that area. However, I had been allowed to choose "bar" on OpenTable. It's Benihana. The food is tasty and you get a lot of it. You can tell that the Chef's are bored from doing the same routine each time, and especially if the diners aren't into it. My only complaint, which is rare for me to have a complaint for Benihana, was that this Chef didn't follow the standard process for cooking and serving food. He cooked the rice and main items before the appetizers. Because I preferred the vegetables and shrimp before eating my main dish, the rice was cold when it was time to eat it. He also forgot the mushrooms until I asked him about it. He was nice and this wouldn't prevent me from returning. I would recommend Benihana due to experience, quality and taste of the food. The alcohol, especially wine is overpriced and now that there is a 20% service charge, that is different than a tip, if you drink, it makes for a VERY expensive dinner outing.

    The server unfortunately ruined our experience in requesting an additional tip via Venmo or cash above and beyond Benihana’s 25% service charge. Please keep in mind that Benihana does not offer an additional line item for a larger tip. Instead the server persisted to tell us he didn’t make enough in only receiving 4% of the service charge. It was just an unfortunate experience for a date night out.
