the food proportion’s aren’t what u paid for. i ordered the shrimp hibachi that totaled me up for $35 and they give u cut up shrimp and too much shrimp for the little fried rice they give you. they also messed up my order as well, and the manager seemed to do nothing about it saying “i can’t take any more off for you” when one of my friends plates weren’t even touched AT ALL, and she was still left to pay $40 for untouched food.

Benihana has become synonymous with understaffing and multi-hour visits. We had a 7PM reservation, and upon arrival were told there were a few tables ahead of us and that they would need the wait staff to free up before seating us. We were seated ~7:40PM. After being seated, our server, who appeared to want to be anywhere but there, spaced out our drinks, soup, and salad courses over 80 minutes because there was not a chef available to make our food. Dinner preparation did not begin until 9:15PM. The chef, to his credit, was amazing and did his best to redeem the experience. However, taking 3 hours from arrival to departure with a restaurant that couldn't have been 1/3rd full has been consistent our last two trips. We will not likely return any time soon.

Food was good but they messed up multiple orders. forgot the white rice cooked too little fried rice didn’t have enough chicken. Didn’t refill drinks. Took 45 minutes to get to the cooking portion of the meal. Server was basically non existent during the meal.

Had great service, chef, and food! Their garlic butter, ginger and yum yum sauce were fantastic! Will definitely go again! If going on a weekend, make reservations!

Great quality of food!! The wait was long before you are served any food. Chef was great, food was great. I thought service would be better for what your paying.

First of all the reservation was for 8:00pm…we were not sat until 8:50pm. I didn’t receive any communication prior to arriving at 8:00 that the staff was running behind. After we were FINALLY sat, the hostess was extremely rude. She talked to me and my party like we were slow and she couldn’t give me an explanation for why we were sat 50 mins past the reservation. We didn’t get drinks until almost 15 mins after we were finally sat. When I questioned the hostess about what was taking so long she preceded to belittle me and try to explain to me how hibachi works after I told her I was fully aware and familiar with hibachi style restaurants. Then to top it all off the overall service felt rushed because they were running behind and wanted to close by 10:00pm. Overall we will not be going back, there are way better hibachi places in Columbus with way better service.

Super loud which is somewhat expected but acoustics make it even louder. Had reservation and still wasn't seated for 30 mins after reservation. Service was slow and portions were small compared to price.
