Needs to be renovated, very dated and dingy. Made a reservation for my daughter’s bday for 6pm and was not sat until 6:30ish. Our server and chef were great but other than that it was terrible. Took way too long for everything except the chef cooking once he arrived. I kneeled on the rug to use a chair to cut my daughter’s cake since no room on table and my jeans got stained with grease, disgusting. We will not return and will warn others.

This was the worst experience I have ever had from the dining, service, wait time, food, Waiter etc. it definitely was not a good birthday dinner and I will likely go to another restaurant next time to celebrate.

We waited for over 2 hours before the cook came to our table. We watched other tables, who were seated after us get service and food before we did. When the manage finally came over was very rude and dismissive. It got so late a child who was celebrating her birthday had to leave. One parent stayed behind so that he could get the food to go. It was very disappointing to watch her cry.

wait time was 3 hours before seated, we had a ton of babies under 5 that was extremely hungry and aggravated for waiting so long just to be seated and after seated it was and additional 45 mins before the cooked arrived so we was getting around 12:30 with kids that have school in the morning didn’t make it home stil 2 in that morning this is so foul this place needs to be closed down

Reservations at 3, seated at 4:45. 6 course meal only received 5 courses. Food was bland and the chef dropped things, didn’t interact and was not entertaining. Upcharges everywhere; rice, noodles why? Fountain drinks were watery and were flat. Won’t be back☹️

This Benihana’s is horrible. This Benihana’s is managed very poorly. Our reservation was at 9:00. We did not sit down until 10:00. We then had to wait another 30 minutes before our orders were taken. We sat there until 11::15 and still had not received our drinks let alone seen our server. We then proceeded to leave. There were people still waiting to be served that was seat prior to us. The cooks are horrible. They have gotten away from the tradition Benihana’s is know for. This was an overall horrible experience. Will not be back!

Food was tasty, but not a good Benihana service experience: 1. Took 45min after we sat down to get our drinks (mostly non-alcoholic) 2. The Saki bottle we ordered was served in a cocktail glass with a straw. Sent back and then served properly. 4. The food was tasty and definitely entertained our son for his bday. But seemed like he was told to hurry up, since the restaurant seemed to be totally backed up. He said he was going to do a lot more up front, but ended up not doing any of the classic tricks you’d expect and that we saw at other tables.

Malachi was an amazing Chef! The food was really good and I was entertained. Everything did come out slow once sat, but Malachi made up for it!

My sister and I decided to try this location again after have a terrible experience in the past. We would bypass this location to go to Alpharetta. They have done a complete 180 degree turn!!!! The wait was long but the service and the food more than made up for it! Everything was great, from the hostess apologizing for the wait and explaining what was happening to our server mama K making sure our table was good! Her personality is amazing and you can tell she wants her guest to have awesome experiences. Jordan our chef was phenomenal. He was interactive, funny and the food was AMAZING!!!! The managers were always circulating making sure that the dining floor was flowing smoothly!!!! We will most certainly return after having such a great experience.

They didn’t tell us there was a long back-up when we got to the restaurant. They just seated us & hurried to get us drinks, soups, & salads, to make sure we would stay. Then we waited…, & waited… & waited… & waited. FOR AN HOUR & A HALF. We got there at 7, when our reservation was for, & the chef didn’t start cooking until 8:30. My husband & I had tickets to the Atlanta Symphony & wanted to be there at 9:00, so figured 2 hours was plenty of time since it’s only 5 minutes from your restaurant. WE MISSED OUR SYMPHONY bc of Benihana’s slow service & not telling us up front that we would have a 1 1/2 hr wait so we could go eat somewhere else. I think they should reimburse us for our symphony tickets, bc we didn’t get out of there until 9:15. That’s $150, with parking, please! We should’ve done like the young family that was seated at our table for a special Mother’s Day treat for the mom, & left after an hour. A man on a suit told our table that our chef would be with us in 3 minutes, but I guess they thought an hour was long enough to wait. They made a good call, bc his “3 minutes” was another half hour! It will be a looooiing time before we ever eat there again!

Reservation was for 8pm, we showed up on time but wasn’t seated until after 9pm. Was told it would only be a 20 min wait when we showed up on time. Was offered no apology or no type of consultation for the seating issue.

It’s definitely not the same Benihana experience that I’ve experienced in years past. The Servers /Cooks are doing their best to hold down the fort. It is very clear they are short staffed so if you go, be prepared to wait. My reservation was for 7 and I left after nine. Soup and salads took a minute to get to the table and we had to wait for the cook to finish at another table before coming to us. It took roughly 45 mins before that took place but again they are short staffed. Other than that their Customer service was fine.

Our server was very nice. We did have some long wait times but were pleased overall. The food was excellent and we will definitely be back. One particular chef, not ours, was super loud! He was talking loudly the whole time and banging on stuff constantly. It was almost unbearable and I could tell that the people at his table were kind of annoyed.

Went for my mother’s birthday last night and had a horrible experience. The management of this particular location continues to go downhill. We arrived and they couldn’t find our reservation and made us wait 20minutes for a table. Once seated the other party they sat us with didn’t include all the people they had with them and they stuffed us all at the same table. There were 12 people seated at this time. The host should have clearly asked the other party to go back and wait for a table that aligned with their party size. Nope, they kept us all seated together and in order to not cause a scene we endured it until the drinks we served and I asked for a manager, whom told me that because we had been seated 20minutes they would have to cancel our orders and have us wait another hour to be reseated if we wanted to move…. I repeat we would have to wait not the other party that had extra people. Never again

Our waitress was awesome, she care of us. Our Chef Friday was awesome as well. He made sure he was giving the best service to us. He catered to all of us at the table. Then at the end, he did his own special rendition of Happy Birthday to me. I enjoyed myself, Friday, I’ll be asking for you next time I come there.

We had reservations at 815pm, we did not get sitted till 10:05, once got seated we waited another hr for food. So our dinner was from 815-11:40pm which ruin the rest of the evening and it was my sisters 50th bday dinner. I was very disappointed, especially when I made reservations in plenty time of advancement.

My husband and I were seated, initially, at the back of the restaurant, in a corner, near the storage area. We requested to be reseated at a different table and the hostess made it possible and the table location was much better. She was very understanding, friendly, pleasant, helpful. Our cook was, Jose. He was excellent, fun, entertaining; and, most of all, the food was excellent. We had a fantastic time! Our waitress was very attentive, responsive, friendly, pleasant and helpful. We have been patrons of Benihana since 1980 and it's location in the Atlanta Downtown area. While we miss the downtown location, which was much more conveniently located, we are pleased with the Buckhead location as well. However, we still miss some of the familiar faces. Thank you!

My son and I were celebrating spring break. Our reservation was for 8:45. We got seated at 9:41 and chef didn’t start until 10:30. Even with all the waiting the food and service was top tier. Our server and chef were awesome. And the food was amazing

I had a 7pm reservation and did not get seated until after 9pm. Too much garlic butter, salt and pepper! Chef kept chopping the rice until it became a couscous like texture. Not worth the money. I will not return.

Our chef was awesome. Very engaging and funny. Worked well with the children. Food was expertly prepared and tasted delectable. Can’t wait to return. Had a great time!!!

The experience was disappointing. We had a reservation for 5:30 pm. We were called to be seated at 6:40. They said they were short of chefs. I was extremely disappointed. We sat in the bar area and ordered from the menu. The food was good but everything else was unacceptable. I will never return. I’m glad I did go in the dark.

This food as continues to go down. We had reservations and still had to wait. Ended up sitting at the bar and the food and service was abysmal. We almost left after waiting for service, but the bartender showed up just as we were making alternative plans. We should have left anyway. To spend over $100 for chipotle like food isn’t the move. Go elsewhere.

I just want to say our server and chef were awesome and I’m sure they had nothing to do with how long we waited. If you go you better hope you get Khlio as your chef, he was awesome. Only part I hated was having a reservation for 6:45 and not getting started until 8:15

Our reservations was at 8. We were called at 8:32pm. At 9, we finally got water and a menu. At 9:30 the hibachi chef started cooking. We left at 10:30. We spent 2.5 hours there, most of the time waiting. Will never return. One and done.
