Il propose 15 sortes de pâtes fraîches faites à la main, 12 heures par jour. Bencotto signifie bien cuit, ce qui correspond parfaitement à la nourriture italienne authentique. Le menu repose sur la simplicité et les plats ont le même goût qu'en Italie. Le Bencotto propose deux espaces différents : vous pourrez savourer votre repas dans le bar « kitchen-esque », en bas, ou vous détendre dans le coin repas intime au plafond bas, à l'étage. La décoration crée une atmosphère soignée et sophistiquée, où le charme d'antan et la chaleur se mélangent à la classe contemporaine.

Excellent food, service and ambiance. The food is absolutely delicious. The servers are friendly and know the menu very well. I have been here several times and will keep going back.

For me, it was five star experience, but for my table mates they weren’t too happy. Calamari wasn’t very crispy and their pasta dishes were extra al dente. Our cocktails were fabulous, and our server was great!

Appetizers and drinks came out quickly. The lasagna bolognese tasted like chef boyardi made it but everything else was great.

I loved this restaurant. No one recommended it and I'm not sure why. The food is outstanding. Fresh ingredients, authentic, great choices. The pasta is home-made. The appetizers are awesome. The waiter was wonderful.. Honest assessment of the entrees. He knew how meals were prepared and was not reluctant to tell us his favorites and why. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Leave room for dessert. Delicious. A tad noisy inside so we sat outside with a stellar view of the city. A wonderful dining experience.

Bencotto is like eating in Italy! 🇮🇹 The food is from scratch and delicious. You can tell the difference of the pasta and sauces. And the tiramisu was the absolute best I have ever had!

Third time dining at Bencotto in the past year, service has been slow and unfriendly each time. Food has been very good and the price is high in comparison to other Italian restaurants in the immediate area. We won't be back anytime soon. Sorry!

I brought my family here for birthday celebration. It is sad that their food is no longer good. Selection is limited and its tasteless. They even add $25 for cake tab. I can't believed it. I've never seen this fee before. The service is good. I would never come back to this restaurant. It is sad that it became this bad.

We split an excellent salad and each of us had a different pasta entree. All were outstanding! Our waiter was knowledgeable and made good recommendations. I order the cheese wheel pasta, which was awesome. Finished off the meal with a nice lemon sorbetto.

Pros: cheesewheel pasta was unique and made the pasta super cheesy (in a good way). Wait staff was great and apps and drinks came out super quick. Cons: Had reservations for weeks in advance and were seated outside right by the sidewalk by everyone waiting in line and the cold wind. Other than the cheesewheel pasta food was nothing special and priced like a high end dining experience.

Was really looking forward to fresh pasta but was so disappointed. I had Tagliatelle with Pesto Sauce and my husband had Tortelli Di Margo with Bolognese Sauce. Both pastas were overcooked, the Bolognese sauce was watery and flavorless and the pesto sauce was dense and unsavory.

I felt that all of our entrees lacked seasoning. The garlic dill Mashed potatoes tasted like plain mush. The bolognese sauce was very greasy, the meatballs lacked seasoning. Overall the culinary experience fell very short of our expectations and we would not return.

My husband & I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bencotto! We even got same-day reservations! The food, service, & ambiance were all exceptional. We highly recommend Bencotto for date night, celebrations, or for any reason!

Don’t recommend this place. Server forgot items from our order and food quality wasn’t that great. Calamari smelt really fishy. Overall experience wasn’t the best. I’m so sorry but I won’t be back.

I expected the restaurant to have alot more ambiance from the online pictures. It was very unimpressive inside. We decided to sit outside. Our waiter never introduced himself or the restaurant like we heard other waiters do. He seemed very uninterested in his job. Never offered to turn heater on, etc. Food was good but otherwise very disappointing for my husband’s birthday.

This was easily the worst meal I've ever paid $150 for ... tasteless, visually unappealing (dried sauce like it had been under a heating lamp). Zero ambiance. Servers were rolling silverware at the entrance, which was so awkward. Felt like a fast-food restaurant. The amount of overwhelming positive reviews of this place is very suspicious. Absolutely no way they get repeat customers.

Awesome service. Bread was meh. A bit odd considering how nice the restaurant is, overall the food was fresh and delicious. Everyone cleaned their plates. Very happy family.

Pasta was the star. Cannoli was excellent, especially the pistachio filled. Calamari was a disappointment, oily and rubbery texture. Good wine selection by the glass.

Everyone enjoyed their meals. The cheese wheel pasta was very tasty! We had a 6:30 reservation but had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Would recommend!!!

Amazing dinner! In town and this restaurant was recommended as a must to dine at. Real glad we did. The service, food, atmosphere were perfect! 10 out of 10 in my book!

This is such a cute little hidden gem. I came here to try the Gnocchi but they did not have the item but Jose directed me to the truffle Raviolis which were AMAZING his service was top notch. Meat and cheese plate also did not disappoint. Will defiantly be back !

Went here for my birthday party of 7. Host was great, she greeted us promptly and sat us at our table. Server took a while before we got drinks started and unfortunately he seemed a bit distracted. We had to ask for pretty much everything, from refills on drinks, cracked pepper for Caesar salads, fresh bread and fresh Parmesan for our actual meals. Just made us feel as if we were bothering him to actually get normal service. Food was good ambience was nice and the tiramisu was delish.

Ate at the bar which worked out OK. While sitting, our table became available and we made the decision not to move. Apps and salads were good, main was great going down, not so good coming back up a few hours later. It was the crab meat ravioli- while eating the 1st one noticed it was too salty and way too fishy. Thought I’d try a 2nd and right after that 1st bite I knew there was something wrong. I just told the bartender I didn’t like the taste and didn’t make a big deal of it. He offered to remove it from the bill but I insisted he leave it. He then comped us each a glass of wine. Really nice guy, helpful but we did feel we were second fiddle to his bar duties. Can’t lay blame on that. I’m positive I’m a blip on the radar since so many of my friends rave about this place. Just my review of this recent experience.

Jeff, our server was absolutely amazing! My friend and I had dinner there and they were so nice to split two of the dishes so both of us could have a little bit of everything. The service was fantastic and the food was even better! You can tell that the pasta is made fresh in house. The plating was beautiful and every bite was absolutely amazing! I have been a chef for over 15 years and this is hands-down some of the best food I’ve had in San Diego. The price was also superb given the quality of food and portions. I would recommend this restaurant time and time again whether you are a local or visiting.
