This was Basil's at its worst. Service was bad as they were overwhelmed that evening, and, worse, the food was awful: lamb ribs and flatbread were overcooked, and fried calamari were undercooked. I am a frequent diner at Basil's, but will reconsider that going forward.

I love this place and have been eating there for years. The outdoor space is one of the best in Atlanta, and the interior has simple elegance. The menu has something for everyone, and the mushroom flatbread, for example, is fabulous, much better than you might imagine from the description. The owner, Joseph, is attentive.

Sail’s deck is our go-to place for outdoor dining. Always good food and drinks. Our overly-worked waiter was too rushed, but still efficient and Anya, the manager, is delightful.

Basil's is a charming house on an off-the-beaten-path tree-lined road in Buckead which we had heard good things about. We were quickley greeted and sat at a nice table on on outside patio. They served us a complementary pizza-type appetizer with our first round of drinks which was excellent, unfortunatetly the evening was downhill from there. The meats on the antipasta plate were not the nicest cuts and a bit on the salty side...and the cheese mentiond on the menu was somehow missing. We then tried a few more tapas that were meager in size and nothing special in taste. Still hungry, and hoping for the best, we were ready to make some additional menu selections but the wait staff never came to our table again. About 25 minutes later I flagged down a person on the staff, paid, and left. We considered this a happy hour and moved on to another restaurant for dinner with much more success.

We have not been to Basil's in some time and remembered that it's usually a good bet. Once again we were impressed by the quality of the food. We had a waiter who was obviously new but nothing serious. The ambience is a bit strange in the front room since there are folding chairs there and the lighting could be better, especially to show off the food presentation. As per most moderately priced restaurants the wine list is not is sync with the food and the Rose we bought was marked up 300% over our liquor store price but overall the experience was a good value. The Mezza Dips are amazing....just saying. Also the was a great live guitarist / vocalist that was not to loud and very talented. They could stand some changes to the overall menu, which has not changes much in many years.

Although we've been going to Basils for decades, the quality of the food and variety has been going downhill for a while. Don't go on a Saturday night, it is unbearably LOUD. And now they have a singer on Sat. night, who is also too loud . Last time I went for lunch there, there were only two tables in the whole restaurant and the service was beyond terrible. I think they are just getting tired. We won't be going back, sad to say.

My evening began with a negative when we sat for around 20 minutes before someone even came by to take our drink order. I told the bus boy, I saw him tell the waitress and she did not come over, she actually went to the table by us which was already eating and did not come over to us. I finally had enough and told the waiter that was taking care of another table and he finally got our drinks to us. There was no apology about the long wait. The food was good, my lamb chops were all bone and very little meat, but they were tasty. My husband had the meatball linguine and he said it was good. Keep in mind that although they are giving you fountain soda, you will be charged $4 for each refill. I will not be back, the bad service was enough to keep me away. There are plenty of other restaurants in Atlanta that will treat me the way I should be treated when I am spending disposable income in their establishment.

Valentine’s Day dinner was insanely overpriced and service was very slow. Food was good but not worth the price and the holiday menu wasn’t apparent online before we got there so we didn’t realize the menu would be so limited.

We went for Valentines Day. The ambiance was nice but they were understaffed so service was slow especially drink service as only one bartender was working. The food was great. Overall a good experience all things considered and i would go again.

Papa Joe made our early Valentines date perfect! The wine and our meal was simply delicious. I had the Mediterranean Chicken with toasted chicken breast, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, goat cheese, pepper-corn au jus, spinach & potatoes. I can’t get over the flavors in this dish! We will be returning!

I went here for a date night with my wife. The whole dining experience was exceptional. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was the best meal I have had in years. I highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back soon.

This was an interesting evening. When we arrived at 7 pm, the restaurant was pretty busy. My group was served water right away but it was about 15 min before a server, who we think was the owner or manager, came to get our drink order. By the end of the evening, we realized he was the only one serving, with the assistance of one bus person who spoke no English. The service was good considering there was only one person, but fair for a $250+ 20% tip added by the restaurant making dinner $300+ dinner out for 4 pp. Oh, the menu said a 20% tip was added from groups of 6 or more. We were only 4 and they added the 20% tip to our check. I picked the restaurant because it had a diverse menu of Mediterranean foods from Persian to Italian. We ordered several tapas and 3 entrees. The food was okay. The baked brie appetizer was the table favorite. Nothing was bad but nothing was amazing either. What was a little disconcerting was when we went to get our cars from valet, the attendant wasn't anywhere to be found. We waited about a minute or two, and then I walked over to where our keys should have been locked, opened the door, and grabbed everyone in my party's keys. The attendant showed up as we were driving out of the parking lot. This restaurant is in the heart of Buckhead, on a narrow street. Anyone from the street could easily gone and grab some keys as I did and take a car.

One of the best dinner experiences I’ve had. All around excellent. Wine was fantastic - heed the suggestions from the owner on both the wine and food. Live music was an added benefit - definitely schedule a visit when Martina Sandiego is playing.

For apps we had calamari and mushroom flatbread. I think the calamari rings taste better when they are smaller, but no big deal. Mushroom flatbread was so tasty. The greek salads were so cold and fresh. We split the chicken tandori(name)? Also, soo good. Would definitely re visit!

When we arrived at restaurant,we were surprised there was valet parking which made our life so easy,as we did not have to worry about parking. When we stepped into the restaurant there was someone to sit us at over table. The service was great and food was excellent. I would recommend the seafood and flatbread. Overall I would give this restaurant 5 stars.Thank you Basil’s for giving me and my family a wonderful experience .
