Célébrant sa 108ème année d'ouverture, le Barbetta Restaurant est le plus ancien restaurant de New York toujours détenu par la famille fondatrice. Le Barbetta est aussi le plus ancien restaurant italien de New York et le plus ancien du quartier des théâtres. Cette triple distinction lui a valu la récompense du Locali Storici d'Italia. Dans un intérieur brillant décoré avec des antiquités italiennes du XVIIIe siècle, le Barbetta sert une cuisine du Piémont, la région italienne le plus au nord-ouest. En été, son jardin incroyablement verdoyant avec ses arbres centenaires et parfumé de fleurs de glycines, de lauriers roses, de jasmin et de gardénia en font l'un des endroits les plus prisés pour les repas en plein air.

Wonderful restaurant. Beautiful inside, food is really good and the price-fix is a good deal. Only negative was they totally forgot that we told them we were celebrating a birthday.

Whether inside or in the incredible hidden garden, Barbetta is such a beautiful space. A great pre-theater destination that allows you to forget you are in NYC and soak in their top-notch service. A true gem!

Just such a special place. And one that does not trade on history or decor to provide mediocre food. Quite the contrary: excellent dishes, from starting pasta to entrees. Standouts were the herb risotto and the black olive pasta. We said to ourselves: we live here, why don’t we come more often. We will! Also, the staff were wonderful: Ramon, Angel and Tomo.

This restaurant was recommended by friends for a special night out. In the over 3.5 hours we were there, only one other table was there for dinner. I can understand why. Service should have been attentive and welcoming. It was not. No background music until we asked. It was a really weird vibe. Bread was mediocre - no excuse for that in a city with great bakeries. food was very average. it was definitely undersalted and bland. My rabbit (a favorite of mine) was overly acidic and dry. Cabbage was awful with strong flavors. I would not recommend and will certainly never return

We loved this restaurant! Unique (quail eggs, risottos, swordfish) and absolutely delicious menu items! Not your typical Italian restaurant in that the food was originated in a different (Piedmont) region....and while I love traditional Italian food that we all think of when we say that, this is different, but every bit as delicious!! The lovely historical building and the long history of the restaurant itself adds to the experience. And, the waitstaff are topnotch, efficient, kind, and helpful. Highly recommend!!
