A lovely little place to eat within distance of anywhere in the twin cities. Very high quality fish and wonderful new presentations all the time. Have been eating Sushi for 30 years and this is now the place top go in the Twin Cities.

The food has been consistently excellent at Bagu. I have taken many friends and they all say the food is very good. It is better than almost all the Sushi restaurants we have in the Twin Cities. Quality of the fish and portion sizes are also substantial. Its almost the only Sushi restaurant we go to. You will not be disappointed.

Quality of sushi was great except we weren't a fan of the blue colored masago on one of the rolls. Seating was really tight snd we were practically elbow to elbow with table by us and it was quite loud in there. Sounded like a room over capacity. Our waitress, Suheily, was absolutely phenomenal! She was upbeat, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. I would recommend this place.

Restaurant was empty when we got there and packed within 30 minutes - all the tables were reserved. With it being such a small spot I definitely recommend making a reservation when possible. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, she was detailed and helpful in answering our questions and recommending drinks. We got a mix of sushi, thai, and ramen, all of which were equally delicious! You could really tell the food was freshly made and of great quality. I recommend trying the thai iced coffee as well if you are up for a cold, sweet, umami drink. A word of the wise for those of us a little less accustomed to asian spice (if you know what i mean…) - please don’t lie to yourself about how much heat you can handle, the spicy ramen is SPICY. The “level 3” heat we ordered was a lot. Do yourself the favor and get a 1 if possible and ask for some of the hot sauce on the side so you can add it in to your liking. My friend was absolutely humbled. He was all but in tears. I have never seen his face so red. I think our waitress got a real kick out of this as well (she did try her best to warn us about The Spicy, so it was all in good fun) 🤣 Overall, a great little spot. We’ll be returning for sure!!

The food was very good with some unique items on the menu. Sushi restaurant and dessert don’t seem to go together but here order the Roti you will be glad you did. Server forgot about our food but she did apologize.

Definitely need to make a reservation because there aren't a lot of tables and then it was very busy on a Wednesday. Fried softshell Crab was yummy and not fishy, Thai tea was good, caterpillar roll was delicious and the chicken pad Thai was good too.

The staff were great and attentive. it wasnt too busy the day we were there, just one big group and us, and it just sucked how disregarded we kind of were. We got there when the restaurant opened and it literally took a little over 2 hours to get our food. Our order wasnt too much neither. Even some customer’s who came after us got their items prior us and left before we ever got our items. Our appetizers and some food came to us like every other 15 min, to keep us there, until our food arrived. The staff, again, were nice, attentive and apologetic, which made it difficult to complain. But I still dont think we’d ever return after this.

Excellent quality sushi in the twin cities. This place is super small, so definitely get a reservation and expect to be in close quarters with other diners. Great service, will definitely return!

First thing waitress said is if it’s not on the menu you can’t request it. That was very disheartening and rude. She was kind of dismissive as well to us. We’ve been coming here for years and have never encountered anyone like her. I am willing to come again but if she is my server I’ll request to be moved or will leave. If I’m paying you will not be rude to me.

Inattentive service even though we were the only table (there were 2 customers at the sushi bar. Not friendly - our party took note of that. My caterpillar roll was cut too thickly, and had a huge glob of wasabi concentrated in the last 2 pieces making them almost inedible. I had originally made reservations for 2 online, but made two phone calls to the restaurant to add another person to the party. Both times, l left messages requesting a callback to confirm my reservation change - they never called me. I definitely will not return.

We had a wonderful dinner and will definitely be back soon. We tried a variety of dishes and found each one to be interesting and delicious. Service was excellent. Enjoyed sitting on the patio.

Great happy hour. Sushi is always fresh. We also ordered the noodle bowl which got a big thumbs up from our almost 15 yr old whose BD we were celebrating. And he got a free dessert (our server gave him mochi with a lit candle; very cool!)! We also sang 2 versions of HB songs to him which extremely mortified him. Lol.

I asked a separate waiter for some lemons for my water and she proceeded to hold her hand up at me and tell me “I need to wait” and then went to take the order from the table next to me. So incredibly rude and disrespectful as if I said something wrong to her. The food was good but I couldn’t believe this person.
