The food is always good here. The server was not very attentive. He looked to be spending more time talking to coworkers than coming by the table. Had to get his attention multiple times. We will be back as this had never happened before. .

We enjoyed to "open" area – it feels like sitting outside with all the light but without the wind and street noise. The authentic Greek menu with dishes such as exohiko were very tasty.

Music way too loud and this was at lunch time. Table of 4 and we had a hard time hearing each other. I’ve been there for dinner and the music is much louder so talking is near impossible but I thought lunch would be better. It was somewhat but not quiet enough to carry on a conversation that included everyone at the table.

Have not been there for a couple years. Service and quality of food seems to have declined. Hopefully this was a one off experience as this was previously one of my go to places for out of town guests.

Nice ambience, nice service, poor food for a Greek restaurant. Fried Kalamari was terrible, the mousaka plate was greasy, served in a pot-like plate, that was more like greasy mousaka pie. There are better Greek restaurants in Chicago, the food in this one was terrible

We love the outdoor setting & food at Athena. Edgar & staff were attentive & friendly. Love the valet team as well!

I used to love this restaurant. Great service and reasonably priced. Now it’s off the list. Prices are exorbitant! $21 for chewy and small portion of calamari?! I’m overpriced kebabs for chicken having 4oz of meet at $21?! For 3 people with a couple beers each bill was over $200!!! Good riddance.

We went for dinner on Mother’s Day. It was not that busy. We were sat in a corner inside. Our server came to ask about drinks, said he would give us a minute then did not come back for 45 minutes. We had to ask twice for bread and more water. They had a limited menu due to it being Mother’s Day. The saganaki was barely cooked and hardly flambéed at the table. The braised lamb was so tough. It was at least 40 min between our appetizers and our entrees. Our server never checked on us. We had to go find him for the check. When he ran our credit cards, he brought back the incorrect card for my sister and it took him another 15 minutes to come back with the correct card.

Athena is the BEST patio in Greektown. The perfect summer experience, it’s beautifully & thoughtfully designed from decor to layout. The retractable roof doubles their patio space and creates a perfect indoor-outdoor medium so your dining experience is comfortable. There’s plenty of room and they don’t cram tables together to fit more diners. This doesn’t even touch the food! Always delicious and decent portions. The avgolemano soup is fabulous; also recommend the stuffed chicken, exohiko, and saganaki! Drinks are refreshing & consistent. Mother’s Day was low-key & super enjoyable with no prefix menu.
