Artisanal Restaurant is open seasonally from May-October end. Contemporary American Fine Dining in a rustic yet elegant environment. Innovative and progressive thinking in a farm to table approach, only working with the highest quality ingredients. This warm environment offers the best food and wine with excellent service. Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Private dining room adjacent to the wine cellar available for events. The only available menu is a pre-fix style, with 5-6 choices per course, $105/ guest plus a service fee. We do not offer a kids menu however kids prepared to order off our pre-fix menu are welcome. Our Dress Code is Business Casual. Collared shirts are required, jackets are preferred but not required for men. No shorts, distressed jeans, hoodies, hats, or sandals/flip flops. Our private dining room is located adjacent to the wine cellar. For smaller events, 16 or less, the cellar is the best option. For larger parties, up to 65 guests, a restaurant buy-out is an option. Minimums are required for events. Fixed menus are planned with the chef to accommodate guest preferences.

Artisanal provides a high-end, white glove service restaurant in a pastoral valley in Banner Elk. The ambiance is sublime and the food was delicious, seasonal, and generously portioned in comparison to similar restaurants I've visited in other cities. It is a wonderful place to celebrate and a must-visit for someone that appreciates technique and a wonderfully curated menu.

Could not justify the hike in the price of the unique formula and the automatic service surcharge of 21%. While the service remain impeccable and the freshness and presentation of the dishes is as perfect as ever, there was a general lack of originality and inventiveness in the choice of ingredients and flavors compared to previous experiences.

Few (if any) of the finer restaurants we've eaten at can match Artisanal for its ambiance. Fewer still can approach their exquisite cuisine. Of course, even those facets of the experience could be dampened by poor service. Artisanal staff are very well trained and have prior experience at this level of dining. Add the three elements mentioned above, and ours was an experience to remember, just as it was when we were there for our anniversary last May. As General MacArthur said: "We (actually, he used "I") shall return". Even though it's a 240-mile round trip for us, Artisanal is worth every mile of it.
