Dans ce restaurant à l’ambiance personnalisée, l’A.R Valentien, le chef Jeff Jackson met en avant les fruits de mer fraîchement pêchés, les viandes, ainsi que les produits laitiers. Le menu est déterminé et influencé par les ingrédients disponibles sur le marché selon les périodes et les saisons de l’année. Un certain nombre de fermes travaille avec le Lodge, et lui fournit les produits spécifiques dont il a besoin régulièrement. L’établissement a également établi un partenariat avec les compagnies de fruits de mer et de petits poissons locaux qui opèrent dans tout le sud de la Californie. This was a very special night that did not turn out very well. We had the seating we wanted, but the entire tablecloth was wet. When we question the waiter, he said that they spray it with water to get the wrinkles out. We had to persevere to get them to put a dry tablecloth on the table. One order for dinner was rack of lamb, which was ordered medium rare and it came out rare. Very disappointed. The complementary dessert because of a birthday celebration was laughable. The waiter was more concerned about appearance than service.

We went to celebrate a birthday. The staff was amazing and their efforts made for a wonderful dinner. The food was outstanding as well. Plus we dined on the terrace during sunset. This is a special place to dine.

AR Valentien is a wonderful dining experience. The menu contains offerings that are diverse with slightly unique takes on classic dishes with fresh ingredients and are consistently executed in excellent fashion. The staff is knowledgeable and very attentive. The environment is beautiful. Our dining party sat on the outside terrace which was absolutely lovely but there are the occasional military aircraft flying overhead. Based on your own personal perspective, these infrequent flights can be an interesting addition to the experience and/or a loud disruption, albeit only momentary. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at AR Valentien!

We had an amazing experience at Valentien. The food was outstanding and the waiter (Willow) was very knowledgeable and kind. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary, they all made us feel very special Beautiful scenery as well

We sat out on the patio which has heaters if needed and allows you to enjoy the view. The service and food is incredible. The citrus salad had a surprising smear of crème frâiche and they served a complimentary amuse bouche which was divine. Our sea bass and lamb were cooked perfectly and the chef combines such interesting flavors and textures. It’s pricey but worth it when you want to enjoy a dining experience.

Although the food and service was great , we had a very unlucky time/day. The large table of people we were sat next to was unreasonably loud and, the Miramar Air Station kept sending deafening flights over the restaurant !!

This restaurant is my wife's favorite, and we go there for special occasions. Last night, we just did it for "date night." As always, it was wonderful! The food and service are superb. Willow, our server, is absolutely the best in the business!

Delicious food, friendly staff, great views, excellent ambience. Not sure why this place isn’t more busy!! Our waiter Riccardo and Mo (Mustaffa) were excellent company in between ordering, and the spring berry salad, braised veal cheeks, and chocolate torte were all to die for. We will be back!

Outside terrace has fantastic views though it can get windy even with heaters. You can ask for blankets. Service is attentive and relaxed. Food is delicious. Prices on the high side.

Patio has stunning views. Food was really quite delicious, and very nice sized portions. Sometime when you pay a lot, you pay for very little, but these were good sized meals. Nice mocktails too!

It was the food that was a total disappointment. Three of us dined, and our of all of the dishes served only one was excellent: a chicken pate. The asparagus soup would have been very good if the crab in it had been eliminated. It gave a slight fishy taste to the soup. Apart from that the artichoke w/ polenta entree was lacking flavor and good texture, the fish was nicely crisped but lacking flavor, and the strawberry pavlova was quite ordinary. For the prices of the dishes, the quality certainly did not add up. All three of us were disappointed.

Amazing food and fantastic service. The server created a whimsical experience that matched the ambiance by acknowledging each person’s order with “As you wish”. The kitchen sent out an unexpected treat at each course, that was not ordered, and was still individual to the dietary needs of the diners.

We have been to Valentien’s in the past several times on different occasions and keep going back to it since it’s an amazing restaurant with great food , caring staff and a very classy ambiance.. They make you feel like royalty. Now our friends have become addicted to this restaurant and keep asking us to go there from Los Angeles for special celebrations. They even customize the menu with your name on top of the menu. Certainly a must/ go restaurant.

The menu had a special message on it naming our guest specifically with congratulations. That was a very special touch. The view on the terrace was incredible for sunset, we all enjoyed the hang gliders. The food , service and ambience was amazing. It was nice to walk around the resort after dinner.

Every dish is at the top of its class. In addition, the restaurant provides a sense of pampering with the amuse bouche, “concierge” bread service, palate cleanser between courses and wait staff offering outstanding quality service. It is a special treat to be there.

Both service and food were superb. We were a party of 6 and every food item was delicious - cheeses, pate, duck, lamb, beef and scallops. Great for special occasions.

This is the perfect place for a special occasion or a quiet dinner looking over the Torrey Pines golf course and ocean. Time your visit for sunset and you will not be disappointed. Ask for a seat on the patio. Heaters were plentiful. The service and food are worth it!!! Save up and allow time to soak in this special place and most delicious food and amazing service.

The dinners here are always excellent. We dined on the terrace and watched the sun set--mellow. The asparagus soup with Dungeness crab is delicious.

Food & service was amazing as we’ve come to expect. Unfortunately that evening there was a lady sitting across from us that ruined the ambience for us coughing & blowing her nose the whole dinner.

We have always been very happy with our food, but tonight was different. We ordered several of our favorites and were disappointed at every turn. Either the recipes have been changed or the food quality has suffered. We truly enjoy this restaurant and hope it was just a one-off. No plans to return very soon.

I always love coming here for special occasions! The food and service are amazing. The veranda is literally a dream with those sunset views!

View is nice but service is not impressive for such a high ranked restaurant. Front desk was totally ignoring us when we left, waiter is friendly but lack knowledge of the food. No one ever asked us the terrace is warm enough or not in a windy day, no one asked if we'd like to order a desert or anything else. It is more like a buffet than a decent restairant.

Service impeccable as always but food was a bit disappointing. Braised veal cheek w pappadarle pasta was disappointing. 3 small pieces of veal for $26. Not a great value. Lobster risotto was billed with full lobster tail w claws and in reality was 6 little chunks of lobster on a ton of risotto. Not worth $62. Halibut with mussels was tough. Overcooked but mussels and broth were good. Asparagus soup w crab was good and desserts were good as well. This is one of my go to restaurants in San Diego and service is always impeccable but this dinner was not great. Seems like portions smaller and prices higher. Hopefully this was just a one off as I will go back , but not the chefs best night.

Whenever we want to treat ourselves to a truly memorable evening out, AR Valentien is our first choice. The food, the service and the ambience is always first cabin and we’re often pleasantly surprised with new creative menu items. I came for the view, but was amazed by the service, food, and ambiance! Such a great experience with our server Omar and the service manager Gabriel. Top notch! Food was outstanding! We had a burger and the grain bowl with chicken added. We also had bloody marys, which were crafted quite well. Highly recommend for anyone who wants something more than just a meal with a view - this restaurant will deliver a full experience!

Very friendly and professional team Our waiter and other service staff were informative and Provided great recommendations Sitting out on the veranda is a special setting Every item was memorable, including the bread service Really like the halibut ceviche the chef sent out I had the duck served two ways over gnocchi and with greens, a spectacular dish My guest felt similarly about the scallops Excellent wine offerings I finished up with a cappuccino which was also excellent This is the perfect place for a big occasion

The ambience, view, service and food are nonpareil. We went for breakfast and everyone ordered something different. Each item was special and an array of tastes and ingredients we'd never had together before. We all had to taste each other's everyone raved about their dish. Simply superb.
