The foods were so delicious. We shared 5 plates between 2 of us and every dish was exquisite. If I had to pick, I would recommend haggis bon bon with whisky sauce and crab on the crumpet. The service was second to none and the setting is quiet yet relaxed and not intimidating at all. A gem ❤️

Relaxing pleasant place for lunch with restrained tasteful decor. Scotch bonnet oysters were amazing. I’d return for those alone. Steak Tartare was punchy, if a bit small. Charred greens good. Flexible menu with good mix of large and small plates. Bread was extra, which I suppose is transparent.

This restaurant is five stars all around. Delicious Scottish and British cuisine. My personal favorites were the eggplant, the cod fritters, the oysters, the crab crumpet and the haggish. Net/net: I loved everything. It's a beautiful space too with great service. If we had more time, I'd probably come here again!

The food was mostly alright, however the chef should pay more attention to their use of salt. The crab starter was much too salty and this overpowered the crab taste. The trout main was very nice overall but the trout was fairly overcooked. The most disappointing part though was the fact that after being seated there were at least two other tables who came in after me whose orders were taken before mine. I also had to remind the waiter to bring the wine with my food. So the level of service was definitely sub par.

we went back to Angels again about 9 months since the last visit to Edinburgh, always a favourite. The menu concept of sharing taster menu was new for the restaurant and introduced only a few weeks before our visit. It was a really nice experience which allowed us to try probably a few more dishes than we otherwise may have done. With it, we had a really good experience with the server helping us navigate the size of dishes for best effect - really good experience and the food was very good indeed!

Everything was fab, staff, food and location. We’ve walked past so many times have the years, we will definitely be adding this place to our regular list. Loved it.
