It was our 34th wedding anniversary, and we honestly didn’t want to cook dinner. I have a broken leg; from a ski injury, and we wanted to relax and have a good meal. The table was great for my injured leg,the waitress was phenomenal and gracious. The steaks, and hours devours were fresh, and mix drinks refreshing.Table wine from Castoro was yummy with meal also. And to end it- the beautiful pink Champagne cake topped it off. We are local, and been coming here all of our lives to stay and play and eat and celebrate with our family and friends. We had a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and very generous. Our server Teresa was friendly and amazing in every way. The food came out quickly and was perfectly cooked and the booths are cozy yet spacious. We also really enjoyed the live music and dancing. Cant wait to return!!

The steak house is a bit odd. Things just don’t click like they should. It feels like it’s stuck in the 50s, but not always in a good way. For the prices, real whipped cream and butter should be used, instead of fake stuff. Where the bernaise sauce for steak? Really, you offer A1 sauce for the $70 steak? That pink champagne cake is terrible. If it used real or whole ingredients, I think it would taste better. You should visit a few good steak houses. Really off and not good.

The Madonna Inn's Gold Rush Steak House is an incredible space; it's kitsch on steroids and I love it! The food, however, is incredibly expensive and mediocre at best. I had the chicken which was dry and overcooked with a ton of sweet bbq sauce that did nothing to mask the dryness of the chicken. The baked potato looks like it had been baking for about 2 days. The house salad was drenched in vinaigrette to the point that all the lettuce was soaked and wilted. Even the "fresh baked" rolls are dry and bland. On the plus side, the service is excellent and the live music and dance floor are delightful. I recommend going for drinks and dessert to avoid paying for subpar food.
