Le restaurant-bar d'Albert est le nouvel acteur très attendu de la scène culinaire de West Didsbury. Ce nouveau restaurant constitue la seconde ouverture d'Albert, petit frère du Albert's Shed à Castlefield, dans le centre-ville de Manchester. Le nouvel espace, qui a été créé sur l'ancien site du pub Barleycorn sur Barlow Moor Road à Didsbury, vise à offrir au sud de Manchester un espace de repas moderne et soigné doté d'une salle à manger pouvant accueillir jusqu'à 160 personnes en intérieur mais aussi 60 personnes sur sa fabuleuse terrasse extérieure idéale pour manger en plein air l'été. Le menu est d'influence moderne britannique et doté d'un mélange éclectique de classiques du monde entier et de spécialités d'Albert. Chaque plat est exclusivement basé sur des ingrédients frais et locaux. Le restaurant est ouvert 7 jours par semaine pour le dîner et le souper, et ce qui constitue une première pour Albert, offre un menu brunch complet les samedi et dimanches.

    Had a great night at Albert Shed. Fabulous drinks, fabulous service. Our waiter Mike was the best. As it was sunny we went outside and the lighting and terrace felt like you were on holiday. My only gripe is the menu hasn’t seemed to change a lot from 5 years ago. I thought the food was nice but it could be outstanding. However we had a great night as I was celebrating finishing cancer treatment. So thankyou as it was really lovely

    We were visiting family in Manchester and we always take them to Albert’s. Always excellent and this occasion was no exception. Food, service, atmosphere outstanding. We had our 1 yr old grandson with us and he loved it making baby noises at all the other kids. Wouldn’t go passed it.

    Enjoyed our lunch very much. A family occasion and everyone managed to find something they’d like to eat including my 95 year old mother. I liked the fact a set menu was available along with the a la carte.

    The meal was excellent as was the service. I had sea bass which was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed. Our waiter was very attentive and pleasant. Only slight issue is the noise level. It is very loud and unfortunately on the next table was a large group of lads who were deafening. I would definitely go again but wonder whether there might be a way to designate quieter areas within the restaurant.

    Whilst the food we had was good. It’s disappointing to see the ever decreasing menu choices and the obvious cost saving measures. For instance, up until not too long ago, when a steak was ordered, the price included any two sides, now, the steak is more expensive and only includes one side dish. I am very aware of the difficulties faceing the restaurant trade, but I think Alberts need to decide what kind of establishment it wants to be. It’s a shame because Alberts has long been a favorite of ours. Hopefully, things will improve in the future.

    We booked for lunch on Bank Holiday Monday. We were greeted upon arrival and asked to sit in the bar area until the table was ready. Our server was Carlos who was very efficient and professional. We had several questions about the menu that he was able to answer. The food was excellent and we were very happy with the whole experience.

    Excellent food - the £14.95 lunch menu is good value and areasonable selection of food within the offer. Service was friendly and no long waits, booking was easy. Only downside was price of drinks - £11.50 for a glass of wine is too much of a mark-up and next time we may just stick with tap water. When a single drink costs almost as much as a 2-course meal then something has gone wrong with their pricing strategy. So - would recommend the food but look carefully at the drink prices before ordering.

We have recently decided to offer almost all of our wines by the glass so that our guests can try wines they may not want to order a full bottle of, which does include some of our more expensive wines.     We like the Albert in Disbury and go there more often than anywhere else. Very reliable. We came yesterday with a family group of 5. My wife and I had the fillet stake-I think the most expensive item on the menu and a staple for us. No complaints about the steak. But when mine came the portion of chips was pretty mean. I asked for a top-up (no more than my son and wife had) but after a while the server came back to say I would have to pay extra. Not a good experience so I am quite put out. I finished the chips and shared some from my son's to balance the steak. We will come back but on this occasion I don't feel well treated.

    i am a frequent diner at Albert’s both with family and friends unfortunately yesterday it was not the case the roast dinners had run out of the main items no roast beef no roasted potatoes etc when delivered my meal was cold when it was re delivered the side of cauliflower cheese was not good there was no cheese to taste and it was swimming in milk:creamy liquid , the side of sausages did not come the second time and we had to reorder again when they arrived my husband had finished his meal as had my father and daughter and I had to eat the rest of my meal alone the 2 sides were discounted from the bill but all in all i felt very disappointed at such a poor choice of food the server was very professional i must add but I felt very disgruntled with my visit yesterday regards L Bowers

    Not the best way to start our dining experience. Arrived at 5.58pm for a 6.00pm booking, was told by the lady at reception that the table wasn’t ready and we would need to wait in the bar ( which wasn’t a problem) at this point I just asked how long it would be ( the table) and the lady replied in a sarcastic manner … ‘well you was early’ So much for making a effort to arrive on time , next time I’ll make sure I’m late . May I suggest the lady has some customer service skills lessons , and learn to hold back her inner sarcasm . The only reason I asked how long the table would be , was because I wondered if it was worth waiting to be seated , to order drinks , rather than ordering them from the bar .

    It’s was good quality and service .. we ordered the Sunday. My advice would be to go for the sewing Sunday roast at £25 per head as the Sunday roast was very small and not filling at all which is what you expect from a Sunday lunch. Filling meal! We will be back as it was quality food and service

    Location good, small car park (but we knew that so not a problem at all). Ambience very good. Service Excellent. Food - Menu good as is all Alberts Restaurants but the Starters and Main Course were lukewarm warm - just ok to eat but not the best. Our local Alberts - Standish, would get 5 Stars consistently in all areas. That is the difference.

    Our waitress was the stand out bit of our visit, It was for a special occasion, my daughter’s 30th birthday, she was absolutely delightful and made our visit very enjoyable indeed.

    First time here all was great apart from my Steak Thai salad, it was extremely salty. I ate it as I was starving, but I mentioned it to the waitress. Everything else was great and the service was really good. Not sure of her name but she was heavily pregnant. She was lovely. Only the over seasoning was the only reason I gave 4 stars.

    The lunch offer fish and chips meal was obviously not fresh, the batter was hard and hardly any fish. It’s worrying that this was served when it was quite clear that it was not recently cooked, it appeared that it had been under a heat lamp for far too long. The numerous tines we’ve been to Alberts the food has been excellent, obviously a disappointment.

    We went for Sunday roast. Chicken dinner was so small. I think because the weather was lovely yesterday they had sold out of some food. This should not cause reduced servings. Very expensive to still feel hungry after it. Service was excellent though.

    Our server, Ali, was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some recommendations which we useful and a better combination than our initial selection. Service was prompt and courteous. All together a good experience and worth a second visit in the future.

    Attentive , very helpful staff, but something went wrong with the allergies. Despite lots of chats with the Manager regarding what we could and could not eat, my wife still ate something that triggered her allergy intolerance on the way home. This spoilt what would have been a pleasant lunch otherwise, though I wouldn’t recommend the alcohol free Shiraz!

    First visit to Albert's but it won't be the last, food was excellent, cooked fresh and very tasty. Staff all very attentive, lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.

    Really like Albert’s normally, but such a shame and so disappointed to see some of the classic favourites go off the nighttime menu . Fish and chips and the rigatoni gone. The mini pie and peas off the starters menu. This meant I had to have the burger and it wasn’t as enjoyable as the ones missing off the menu. Please put them back. Also, a lot of new staff, it felt different in there when I went. Not like normal

    Really, really disappointed. We go often and this was by far the worst visit, unfortunately. The new menu, the new menu prices, just wow. What usually cost £43 roughly, now cost £64!! Food was sub par, really disappointed. We won’t be returning.

    The order was wrong so two of us ate before the other two meals arrived. When the other two meals arrived they were cold and the portion size was very small. When the bill arrived it was wrong and we had been charged for 6 meals even though there were only 4 of us.

    We had a lovely meal using the 3 course for £18:99, great food, good service & great atmosphere. Really good value would definitely return & recommend to others.
