Excellent menu of just the right length. All of our choices were well cooked and presented. The exception being a ‘side’ of the corn beef hash which had we chosen that as a main entrée would have been sent back, watery and absent of any flavour. But because we ordered it ‘to try’, it didn’t impact on the rest of our meal. Also perfect Bloody Mary.

Our server was great: personable made good recommendation. Starter cauliflower dish was excellent. Steak was good as was the seafood stew. Cod was excellent

As usual, 75 didn’t disappoint. After several enjoyable evenings at this restaurant, once again the hospitality and quality come shining through. Anniversary dinner, our go to for atmosphere and great dining. Best waitress so far in 2024! Thank you 75 Chestnut !!!

The food should have been 30% less expensive based on the flavour. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but I shouldn’t see rust on my lettuce. Nor should the pork chop be dry, especially when it’s covered in sauce. Overall meh. And if they hadn’t dimmed the lights so much, maybe the server would have noticed that my wine glass was empty. I would have ordered another but they didn’t deserve it.

It was our last night in Boston and wanted to go somewhere where it would be good food and atmosphere. We arrived at the restaurant where we were met by a very nice lady and escorted to our table by the window. Our server was excellent and attentive, but sadly his name has gone out of my mind. I had the amazing rack of lamb and wife had the lobster pasta. Sadly the pasta was not great, but the restaurant took it off the bill, without any hesitation, which was great customer service.

We are locals but hadn't been to 75 Chestnut for years. We had a really nice time until the end. The food was excellent (salmon, special peach salad) and the service was excellent too (our waiter was Geraldo or Gerardo). The ambience was the usual cosy neighborhood place that we knew 75 Chestnut to be. The only wince for the evening was when the bill was brought to our table (not the price, which was fine). Although we'd only been in there for an hour and 15 minutes and had just passed on dessert, when the hostess brought our bill, she said that they would need the table in 10 minutes. We were obviously getting ready to pay to leave and this comment was wholly unnecessary and cast a pall on our experience there for the evening.

I wanted to go somewhere different to the tourist traps and found this place absolutely loved it . Food was fantastic, service was second to none . Portions were normal size for a meal as well

We love 75 Chestnut and go whenever we are in town. Last night we sat in the bar area and shared a wonderful salad and the salmon. Desserts are half off on Tuesday and the molten chocolate cake was wonderful. They have a good wine selection and service is excellent. We will definitely be returning to 75 Chestnut. Thanks for a lovely evening,

75 Chestnut continues to be a neighborhood ok-spot. It has a comfortable vibe, and staff are generally friendly and friendly. Food continues to be a marginal area: it is tolerably good without being truly excellent. We continue to dine there intermittently because it is nearby and available, rather than a prime dining spot to be sought after. Greater attention to the food could yield dramatic results. The potatoes were undercooked, as were my poached eggs. A sensation of phoning-it-in persists. I wish 75 Chestnut could rise to the challenge of being the neighborhood gem it has the potential to be.

Been here 3-4 times and always excellent. Today was first time ordering breakfast items. I got the raspberry and marscapone stuffed French toast that came with bacon. Imagine my disappointment when I was served French toast spread with raspberry preserves NOT stuffed. And no marscapone. There were two 1" pieces of bacon. It was good but not what was described. Waiter not attentive at all. Never asked how everything was or if we needed anything. Had to flag him down for butter and then again for maple syrup. It was Easter but not busy at all. At least half the tables were empty. Not a very festive atmosphere either.

This was one of the most disappointing meals ever. The reviews made it sound good and I was looking forward to our meal out. I ordered the blood orange glazed salmon. There was nothing glazed about it. Undercooked bland salmon ( absolutely no flavor whatsoever) had some sauce thrown on-top after it was ‘cooked’. The farro /beet concoction was also bland and dreary. The only redeeming item on the plate was the asparagus. I have no idea why chef also threw baked chickpeas on the plate. They were completely unnecessary and disconnected from the meal. My friend had a sub par veggie burger and the kids could only find plain pasta appealing. I had been looking forward to the meal all day. It was shockingly bland and over priced. Do not recommend for a meal. Maybe apps and a drink.

The food was delicious. Everything tasted so good. We started with the Mediterranean platter. I had the salmon and my friend had the cod everything was tasty. The service was efficient and they were very nice. We tried the crème brûlée trio and they were all delicious. It is a small restaurant so don’t be surprised if you have to sit close to another table. Will definitely return.

Great spot for a ladies brunch. Yummy Bloody Mary’s, great options - sausage and mushroom hash was my favorite - and the chocolate chip in a skillet was definitely worth fighting over. We lingered and laughed and I will be back in a few weeks with a different group. Well done!

Excellent dinner in lovely Beacon Hill. The salmon and swordfish were cooked to perfection. Friendly service, very unobtrusive. Delicious specials included pear salad. Will definitely go again - the definition of a hidden gem with unique ambiance and wonderful dining and drink selections. Thank you.

We had a great window table facing the street and the atmosphere and service were great, However the cod from the main dish was beyond disappointing, dull lacked flavor and slightly overcooked. The rice, Brussels sprouts and mushroom were tasteless as well and did not complement the fish but the opposite Would not dine there again
